Walking Meditation***: Sitting down is NOT required!

The hardest part of meditation for some of us is the initial sitting-down... Yes, meditation is about being still, but it is about an internal stillness. At first, it is easier to find it inside if we practice it outside, but really, it is about the quiet mind, the quiet heart. And that we can find any time, any place, in any movement of our bodies. By now, if you have been following this blog, you know I am all about bringing spirituality down into physical reality, rather than rising from the... Sign in to see full entry.

Crystal Magicks!

I've never been impressed much with the mystical properties of crystals. Just didn't feel much there that had anything of significant power or even nudge... that quality that tends one to think or go in a particular direction. Ironic, perhaps, because I have a life-long love of rocks and geology that revels in their beauty, their awesomeness, their magnificence! I have always preferred rough, wild stones to polished and faceted ones, and my heart swells with joy and marvel to be in the presence... Sign in to see full entry.

Death II

I come back to the questions about death and dying myself from time to time, to see how my outlook has changed or grown, or tightened. There was a time when I was feeling the weirdest sort of dread and anxiety about a plane flight, with my infant along with me-- my ears were buzzing or ringing, sort of, and I could not get my head clear... I had been listening to a program about the AIDS threat which was only a couple of years old at the time and we were all just realizing how deadly it was, and... Sign in to see full entry.

What if we didn't believe in death?

Have you ever pondered how differently we would live, if humanity had not pretty much always regarded Death as something Terrible? Or if we never had? What if everyone, overnight, turned to the belief that Death is not final separation, not inherently tragic, not something to dread? What if we actually assumed, deep down, that it's simply another passage to the next level of personal growth and evolution? What if it were regarded as occasion for more joy than sorrow? What would happen to the... Sign in to see full entry.

Neutrality & Clairvoyance

'To see clearly' is all about getting perceptual filters out of the way. That means letting go of, among other things, our cultural imperative of needing to have an opinion. We set great store in this society on being opinionated. The right to express opinions, I think, is all muddled up with the notion that we are supposed to have opinions. OPINION itself is shrined in our hearts and minds as an Ideal To Strive For. 'Informed' and 'responsible' aren't mentioned... Mind you, I am not speaking... Sign in to see full entry.

How Much Can a Psychic See?

Factorfiction asked me about aura colors in the recent flowers gallery of this blog. I left a comment there: http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/NJphotos/ But she got me started in this direction... I've written on colors, generally, in the earlier pages of this blog, so I won't go into those details here, except to reiterate that different readers will see and interpret colors with a certain amount of personal filtering: What rusty red or sea-green means to me may not be what it means to... Definitions: Compassion

Compassion brings together a clear-sighted, non-judgmental awareness of where another person is at, with an appreciation of what they are experiencing in that place. It is not about taking on the problem or solving it, or in any way interfering with that person's own process of finding their own answers. It is not about being helpful. It is not about giving anything, or taking, or rescuing. It is about waiting to be asked. Sometimes, it is about saying, "No." Sign in to see full entry.

Nostradamus: Fate, Fear, and Free Will

Hello! Are you grounded? Centered? Are you in that place behind your third eye, in the driver's seat? Seat-belt latched...? If not, this is an ideal time to take a few minutes to clear your personal space and own it... If you've ever read the prophecies of Nostradamus, probably the world's most notorius seer outside Bible and Koran, it is hard to dismiss the notion of future-sight. Many of his verse-coded predictions made little sense when he wrote them but are so clearly applicable to modern... Sign in to see full entry.

"Basket of Light"

Here is another item out of my writing archives... This was a sermon written in 1985, and the dating shows here and there. I believe my voice has changed a bit over 20 years, too... Later on, this led to a meditation that I still use and teach. I've edited it slightly for present time. BASKET OF LIGHT Candles, crosses, stars, roses... Symbols of light and truth and spirit. Ceremonies, prayers, benedictions, formulas, spells and incantations... Rituals to enhance faith, belief, and the experience... Sign in to see full entry.

Miracles seem to happen...

I found this in something I wrote a few years ago, and find it interesting again, and possibly worth some discussion: Miracles seem to happen. But what's happened is that we've begun to go with the flow of Reality instead of against it. We can't work with anything but Reality, if we want lasting change or growth. The trick is to determine what is, around and despite all our investments in what we wish was, or what we're afraid might be. Sign in to see full entry.
