Love and Fear... Life and Death...

These topics have been coming up lately like mushrooms after a rain... And usually, in the usual frame of philosophical thought. I would like to suggest a re-frame, based on the larger picture, based on my own accumulated philosphy, that everything has its proper place. Love is the natural, essential feeling of Spirit. It is all about appreciation, and acceptance unconditional. It has no fear in it; there is nothing to fear, where there is Love. It is the essence of the Universe, of God, of... Finding the Driver's Seat

Neutrality is an energy. It is also a way of seeing things. A lens to look through. A filter. Untinged by feelings, beliefs, and needs, or desires, it lets us see, simply what is there, and what is what. As you run the energy of neutrality in meditation, and appreciate it for its simplicity and its balance, as you let it swirl through your channels and chakras, it cleanses without adding its own bias: neutrality is unbiased. It sluices away the extraneous, the stuff that is past pull-date, the... Sign in to see full entry.

Grounding and Centering: the next bit and Neutrality

The last time I wrote about this was some time ago... plenty of time to practice the first bits, and get comfy enough with them to feel the difference between grounded and ungrounded, centered and uncentered... Are you ready for more? ______________________________________________ It starts the same way this meditation always starts... sitting comfortable with your feet flat on the ground, hands apart... Ground yourself, and say hello to your grounding... Reaffirm that bubble, the outer edge of... Sign in to see full entry.

Whose problem is it really?

A question which bears consideration, before we spend our time and energy trying to find solutions for a problem that really isn't our own, or the wrong problem, because someone else told us that was the right one... Many times I asked questions of my teachers of spiritual training, and they answered what they thought were better questions for me to be asking. In a way, they were right, that i needed that information, too but in my reality, I wasn't ready to process that: I knew what I needed... Sign in to see full entry.

The Akashic Record and the Small,Still Voice

The Bible says: Ask and you shall receive. Knock and the door shall be opened... Metaphysics calls it the Akashic Records. The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ of the Piscean Age, which falls somewhere between those two, refers to The Book of God's Remembrance. I think it's all the same thing: the principle that all that is, all that ever has been or will be, exists already in a 'place' outside the material time-and-space reality we live in as if it were the only Reality there is. Therefore,... Sign in to see full entry.

I've reviewed this entire blog, comments and all, taking an analytical look

I have written 90 articles in this blog as of today. Of the current 824 hits recorded since the hit counter appeared in Feb, I think, 64 readers have left comments. The most left by any one reader is 47; 16 readers have left 5 or more; 7 of those are in the double-digits. And why am I looking at this in such a way? I've offered these articles to a newspaper to run as a feature. I would like to include some of the comments and discussions we have had, as well, as you have often contributed to the... Rats and Slot-machines: Why we keep using solutions that don't always work

Guilt is one of the devices people use to get their needs met. I can't say I think it is a fair means to that end, but it does work short term sometimes, and when one is too tired or confused to look far past the short term, that's enough: it's an easy 'automatic' to fall into. "Right,' or not, we do it. Some people opt for other good short-term, bad long-term solutions like brutality, or sheer obstinacy, or some other innately primate way of getting obstacles out of the way, or outlasting a... Free Will doesn't mean jumping the curb...

Free Will-- What I am talking about is spiritual free will. How that translates to the body and our daily choices is that we have freedom of thought, freedom of belief, but not necessarily freedom of action. It is, as always, a matter of balancing soul and body interests. But we are not just spirit. We are human as well as being: body and psychology come into it, as well. And society. We cannot act in a social world as if we are the only one that counts: we have to tailor our choices and intent,... Sign in to see full entry.

Burden of Proof

In my Universe, the burden of finding belief is on the one demanding proof. I don't feel that I have to defend or justify or prove that the God I know is real. The ones who think I have to prove something to them are mistaken in the notion that I want them to believe what I believe: that I want them to agree with my Truth. In fact, I don't want to convince anyone. I am putting up signposts, sketching maps and playing with puzzle pieces, and I am most gratified when someone finds that these... Do You Believe in Evil?

I didn't used to... I don't want to... I walked through the Museum of Torture, in a city that was the height of civilization of the day, when the implements there were in regular use, and I could hardly believe that people could deliberately use these things, could even have thought of them... I remember the Chicago apartment that was occupied by the children of a band of drug addicts-- children from practically newborn to school-age... and no one was caring for them but themselves... They were... Sign in to see full entry.
