THE WHITESTONE BRIDGE

Bowshot energy released, it bores in arc of clean trajectory out through the first high slender arch, begins to bend and - in descending - holes the second just the same and then, with graceful curve, glides back down to Earth once more in distant Queens. - Four Bridges Seen in Metaphor Sign in to see full entry.

THE SENTINEL

Poised in air and level with my sight, my partner hawk and I stitch wide slow silent circles over Lake Stahahe as the new warm sun steps westerly this unacccustomed bee-droned April afternoon. Sign in to see full entry.

I waited, heard her first, and then I saw her come around the corner - God! she was magnificent! She taxied... Sign in to see full entry.

"Hummer, Hummer, Burning Bright!"

Squat and ugly blood-red Hummer bearing down on me, that rack of lights above your cab, could they be for spotting me? Brother to the helicopter gunship and the tank, you're hogging your lane, hogging mine. Could it be you're pulling rank? And perched up there, controllng all, is tiny woman on a... THE DIFFERENCE - Why Poetry Slams and Open Mike Nights Work

Silent reading's bread and butter, gets us through our life each day - recipes or friendly e-mails, tags that say how much we pay. But listening is something else. Overhearing conversations, charm of those old bedtime stories - much better than a page in print! The words have found a human voice... Sign in to see full entry.
