Chesapeake shore

The water is warm where it hits the beach, tossing around bits and pieces of shell and the occasional fossil shark tooth. Sign in to see full entry.

Too tired...

The day was hot, but not where we were--Charlie, the Young Lads and I picked up the other local Nana (Zoe's other grandma isn't really theirs, but on the other hand, there is no one more everyone's grandma than Nana!) and we drove out to the edge of the Chesapeake Bay. We were hoping to find a few... Sign in to see full entry.

In the deep places of the earth...

About 2 hours from Washington, DC there are at least two cavern systems to visit. We went to Luray Caverns this time. (The other is Skyline Caverns, and also fascinating and beautiful.) Aerial shots of the Northwest & California

Out of Seattle an hour early: seat available on a flight before mine, and a window seat, and an extra legroom seat! What luck! Even if the window is above an engine and shoulder of a wing. Overcast most of the way, but some peaks poking above the cloud sea: Rainier, Shasta particularly. Interesting... Sign in to see full entry.

Vale, the 9-year old, and I went out for coffee...

The kid likes coffee. He had a white chocolate mocha. No, I am not daft, I ordered decaf for him. I finally understand why there is decaf. For 9-year-old coffee hounds. He says now, he always gets decaf, but didn't tell me that 'cause he figured I would figure it out... I have always liked to go out... Sign in to see full entry.
