Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

I had an aunt who was an artist. She was so talented. She had a ceramic shop when I was growing up and my sister and I lived at her house as much as our house. We helped her with the molds and unloading the kiln. She could paint faces that looked like they were just about to talk. She and my uncle had a daughter after she had several miscarriages. What's That Noise

Okay, enough is enough. We woke up to several inches of snow and ice so the Hospice aide didn't come today to give Richard his bath. Richard and I were in the upstairs bath and hear a shrill whistling noise. I check all over the house up and down and the only place it can be heard only in the bathrooms. There was just a trickle of water in the downstairs bath sink so I left the faucets on and went back upstairs and gave Richard a bath and dressed him. The whistling noise stopped and I went back... Mom, My Water Pipe Broke. What do I do?

I don't do mornings well especially when it starts at 5am. I hurriedly fixed Richard 2 sausage buscuits and tried to go back to sleep. However, Richard wanted to talk and talk and talk. I finally gave up and got dressed. I went downstairs and started painting. I got more of the concrete floor drylocked and kilzed. Then I put a coat of kilz on the bathroom walls and painted 2 walls lavender. Who Let the Gremlins In?

OK enough is enough. Joe came over today to stay with his Uncle Richard. I made plans for "ME". First I thought I would go to Jamaica and take a really long soak in the jacuzzi uninterrupted. I started spraying the tub to make sure all the scrubbing bubbles were gone. The tub was stopped up and wouldn't drain. A quick check showed that all the drains including the washer were all clear except the tub and downstairs shower. It's 3 degrees here so Richard and I figure the line is frozen so I start... Self Care Takes a Lot of Work

It has been a day. I woke up with a migraine so it was a quick breakfast for Richard and back to sleep I went. Besides it was too cold outside to be up. It was 2 degrees this morning. I must say that having the underneath of the house insulated has made a big difference this year. Still just the thought of the cold made it easier to snuggle under my electric blanket. A Grandma story

My Mom is called Grandma by everyone. She is the last of her 11 brothers and sisters and has lived to be older than any. Grandma has some strange dreams and she sometimes acts them out physically. Last year she gave herself a blackeye trying to fight off a wild pig in her dream. I mean it was a real shiner. She yelled for Blake(my son who lives with her) in the middle of the night. Gone to Jamaica Maaaan

It was a good day and excellent day. Overlooking having to pay for a new water heater, I am very thankful to have hot water again and that JT raised the temperture so it is really hot. The last water heater I had to replace the kids were little so I had it set at 120 degrees to prevent scalding. I decluttered my bedroom today so the Chi will flow good tonight. Today was Mom's Day

My Mom retired from the VA after 24 years of working in dietetics. Rain, shine or snow she was at work. She retired in 1991. She had been told she would recieve 600.00 dollars from my Father's social security. My Dad died in 1989 with colon cancer and we had to appeal to get his Social security before he died. He was on his death bed and SS told him to go back to work. Because my Mom retired as a Federal worker and retired when she did, she fell into the 5% of Federal workers who are penalized... My Cat Ate My Compter

This is gray girl and she has taken a liking to my laptop. She keeps chewing on the keyboard and lying on the keyboard. She totally reprogrammed it today and flipped keyboard pieces off and chewed them. I know she hasn't had a computer course and she can't spell so she can't blog just yet. She is also taken to licking my speakers and trying to eat the cursor. So if you get anything weird from me, it means I had to stop in midstream to help Richard and Gray girl took over. A change of plans

I started to have a pity party today but then I decided I didn't want to go. As I thought of all the things I might be missing out on because I am sick and Richard is sick and how things don't get done because we can't or don't have the money and how things used to be, the hospice nurse called to see if she could come out and change Richard's catheter. Weiging Sorrow

Written April 8, 2007 Today we went to the funeral home to pre-arrange the funeral of my husband. To many it maybe too morbid but in practicality it is the easiest act to have done when death comes. Stranger than fiction

Well, it is going to be an interesting Feburary. My ex just text me and said he has to have a knee replacement. Since he lives alone and has no one who can care for him, Richard and I invited him to stay with us or he can stay with my Mom when he has recuperated some. I have Teena who can help me take care of him and Brooke and Scott can come over in the mornings and Blake can come over in the evenings. Grand Torino

If you get the chance, go and see Clint Eastwood's new movie or download it on DVD. It has to be one of his very, very best. I was blown away. Blake downloaded it for me and I watched it today. We have a new caregiver assist coming tomorrow to make up for Thurs. She was here one day last week when Teena was sick. I really don't want her here tomorrow but she needs the hours. I've been way off

I accidently turned by wireless switch connection off and have been through contortions of grand magnitude trying to figure out what was wrong. I glad I hung up on waiting 30 minutes yesterday on the internest provider now. Glasses helped finally to find the switch. It is awfully tiny. Acturally, I have been off sleeping the past 3 days since Christmas also. We had a great Christmas. Even my sister and her son came over and he brought his girlfriend.
