The Adventures of Eating Out

So, Rick, Snaz and I decided to try the new menu at Applebee's the other night. Just as we finished our appetizers, I looked up and noticed the couple in the far booth. She was trying to get him to respond. I saw his ears getting grayer and bluer and decided this is not a good sign. As I walked to the booth, the lady is holding his head up. He initially responded to questions by shaking his head and then he quit breathing and I couldn't feel a pu lse. I did a vigorous sternal rub and yelled at... Sign in to see full entry.

Spawn of the Devil

We have a new addition. Brooke called and asked if we wanted to a kitten, Since we have rats in the shed and Rick found two snakes in the yard, we decided to take him. He was 10 weeks old when we got him. His name is Jubal. I have never had a cat like him. He has climbed to the top of all the curtains and pulls down a rod of curtins at least once a week. He thinks biting is a form of "I like you" and also "I will hurt you." The intensity of the bite reflects which one he is communicating,... Sign in to see full entry.

A Long Seven Months

Blake was out of work for 7 months learning how to cope with panic attacks. I had to get him to change his doctor to the group the rest of the family goes to including my ex. Although Brooke and I see Dr. H, blake and my ex see Dr. B. I went with Blake to see Dr. B the first several visits due to Blake's amxiety. Blake was like: " I can't believe a 36 year old man has to have his Mom go to the Dr. with him." He needed me to make sure Dr. B understood the intensity of what he had been through and... Cold Cold Snowy Weekend and Football

It is cold and snowy here. At least Rick had to only clear off steps instead of thirty. Peaches got out and we almost didn't get her in. She had a ball running in the snow and chasing birds and sniffing what was under the snow. So after play time came football time for Peaches and Rick. she is only a little spoiled. Staying warm by the fire Picasso stayed with me and Rick the Week after Christmas for a couple of days. Grannie made sure he didn't get his clothes dirty. LOL Big smile for daddy... An Eventful Two Weeks

Monday, almost 2 weeks ago, I left my Dr. office after having some trigger point injections in my shoulder. I walked out the door feeling fine. Five minutes later I'm thinking I will never eat onions on a cheeseburger again thinking back to lunch 4 hours earlier. I get to pharmacy to get med refills twenty minutes later and I am never eating a cheeseburger again. Five minutes later I am home and lying in bed and praying not to throw up. I usually don't stop until my toe nails come up. An hour... Sign in to see full entry.

Thirty Seven Years

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was the day after Thanksgiving. I had begged my husband not to leave me alone but he wanted to go to a football game with his buddies. I had just gotten out of the hospital with pre-eclampsia and the news that our child was severly growth retarded. He left me on the pull out couch with a fire in the fireplace for warmth. He had turned the heat down to 60 degrees to save money. I had to get up and put logs on the fire to keep it going. I felt the baby... Sign in to see full entry.

It's Bristol Baby

It's football time in Tennessee. The Battle at Bristol at Bristol Motor Speedway. The TN Volunteers vs Virginia Tech Hokies. This is the Bristol Motor Speedway. It is Naascar's fastest half mile track. Three weeks ago there was a race here. Right after the race ended 450 truck loads of gravel was hauled in to build in field 3.5 feet higher. Then it was padded and astro turf covered. It was finished in 15 days. All the vehichles seen around the track are mostly RV's and tailgate parties. It is... Sign in to see full entry.

Well, the roof is nearly on my old house and the lease to own owners are paying for half. Rick has gotten estimates for roof and guttering and sofit for our house. We will soon have a new roof here. I have finished painting the living room and we have re-arranged the living room. It is stucco walls and ceiling so it was not an easy job. I got the computer room painted with all 7 windows and woodwork which was not an easy task either. Rick is working in 90 degree weather in the plant and with the... Sign in to see full entry.

Okay. the roofer when Richard had a new roof put on did a lousy job. Even though the new owner( with me financing for 18 months), clearly states they are buying house as is. They are responsible for all expenses from now on. The roof wasn'ttheir fault and is a large expense so we are halving the price with me getting the loan and they he;p me pay half. However, when the septic tank backs up and they have sewage coming up from downstairs shower running out into the downstairs hallway, they get... Sign in to see full entry.

When It Rains it Pours

Firdt of all and above all, my and Richard's neice Suz (Joe's daughter) had twins 9 weeks early 2 weeks ago. Today I found out that her son had a grade 3 brain bled with hydrocephalus and needs brain surgery. There are only 2 centers that perform the surgery needed Boston and Charleston, SC. The House is Sold

My house has sold as it is to date and the new owners are finishing the rest of the cleaning, hauling off paints and toxics, metal, landscaping, steps, decks and roof. Blake's best friend's sister came and looked at house on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. We had to go twice because renters refused to let us see the upstairs on Wednesday. They said they were to get a 24 hour notice.LOL Anyway, I gave them a 24 hour notice and they still wouldn't let us in for twenty minutes. She has allowed... Sign in to see full entry.

Busy,Busy.Rest. Rest. Rest, Busy, Busy

I decided to sell my house. I decided on a realtor, Sharon Young, my first married name. The 61 five star reviews and the multimillion dollar houses listed on the her Web site was also a factor. After touring the house, she wanted it as pristine as possible before listing and showing. This meant that all the storage has to be cleaned out and the metal carried off and furniture sorted. This, also meant that Richard's nephew Joe had to come over from Asheville to help. I've only been waiting six... Sign in to see full entry.

A Reason to Live [ edit ] Somebody please give me a reason to live. The pain is unbearable and I can't stand anymore. Everyone's tired of me complaining about the pain but they don't have it so they don't understand. It has been years now and I can't do anymore. Can't work, walk, or clean or cook so why should I go on. I am worthless to everyone. I have no value anyone. I wish I could go to sleep and never wake up. I could drive my self into the lake but I don't want to die drowning. Why can't I... Sign in to see full entry.

Happy Nurses Day All Year Long

The Many Rewards of Nursing The first cry of a newborn baby. Handing a new Mom her baby to hold. Teaching relaxation breathing for labor. Comforting a grieving couple due to a stillborn. Baptizing their baby as requested and giving a lock of hair. Spending an hour in the morgue to get a picture that looks like a sleeping baby and getting acceptable foot prints. Comforting parents at baby's first vaccination visit. The look of surprise when you've distracted a child to give a shot and they didn't... Sign in to see full entry.
