So here we are at another Halloween, as if the mundane world of politicians, guns, germs, wildfires and catastrophic weather has not been scary enough! My Pagan friends are celebrating Samhain--or soo-wain if correctly pronounced--the end of the bright time of year, and the coming of the dark time, the midpoint between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice, the end of harvest and the beginning of battening down against the cold and dark.
