Autumnal morning
The sky was rosy this morning as the sun came up over a low-hanging misty cloud. Then, for just a moment, it peered below the cloud cover to light the tree tops across the road. A week ago, all the leaves were green, but there are now branches full of yellow and red among the green, and soon my big old maple off the deck will be rich with gold, and then the leaves will drop and branches emerge from cover, and there will be Pike's Peak and the Front Range again, even Garden of the Gods on the...
