...to conditions in the old house, that are less discouraging as I clean up a few things, and encourage Himself to actually do some repairs. Patching a big hole in the ceiling makes a lot of difference, in how warm a room is, and in this very cold weather. This place is in deplorable condition, and smells of dankness and the presence of cats, but it is amazing how roasting a piece of pork, for instance, or cooking a big pot of soup improves the atomosphere.
