You're from Seattle? why would you come here?
I have gotten this reaction a couple of times now, and it comes as a bit of a startlement that Seattle has such a glowing reputation in this corner of the world, though it is not a surprise that people who live here all their lives miss much of what we tourists see. Likewise Seattle... sort of... I fear that Seattle no longer deserves its rep as a clean, lovely city in a pristine environment of waters and mountains and forests.
