Yesterday, coming home with a few items for fridge and freezer, I was met by a great silence. Not a hum, not a click, not a tick-tock... and in the gloom, I realized: power's out. Must have blown a fuse. It happens if someone turns on the electric heater to High. All the lights and appliances in one corner of the house go dead.
