One of the fundamentals of Gnostic belief is that the God of the Bible is not, in fact, the One, the Source, the Supreme Being. Personally, I have no trouble with this-- I've had that entity pegged for some time as one of various 'creator entities' that choose a people to be active agents in the material world and set about creating a reality..
