Answering Avant-garde: Where do thoughts pop in from?
I believe that thoughts originate from all levels within the mind and also, sometimes, from places outside. Mostly, they surface from the area of our personal 'ocean' of mind that is metaphorically like the light-zone that gets dimmer and darker the deeper we go. There are critters in the darkness that sometimes stir the waters or even make an appearance... And there are bubbles from the bottom, rising and expanding quietly, that burst on the surface...
