Peace. Yeshua told us that peacemakers are “blessed” and shall be called “the children of God.” So he placed high regard on the concept of peace. But what is peace? A look at the word “peace” in the dictionary shows that peace means freedom from quarrels and disagreement; harmonious relations; an inner contentment; serenity. If one practices peace, then there should be no arguments, quarrels or disagreements. If one has reached this point, where there is peace, then one has successfully learned... If Ego is in Control, Then One is Among the Walking Dead
Awareness. Of all the things that one can do to help enhance one’s spiritual journey, being aware is of utmost importance. Many of us, whether on the path or not, are not aware of the present moment. It may seem surprising, but it’s true. And if one is not aware of the present moment, is one really living life to the fullest? Ego normally controls most of us. And Ego is only concerned with the past or the present. The past is important because it reflects on Ego either positively or negatively,... Sign in to see full entry.

Christianity is Not Just Christianity. It is Also Buddhism, Paganism, Islam
A lily is not just a lily. A lily is many things. A lily is also the clouds and the sunshine and the rocks and the rain and the soil. Without any of these, a lily would not be. This also holds true for me. I am not just me. I am everything in the cosmos. I am also the trees, and the ocean, and the animals, and the planets, and my brothers and sisters. Without any of these, I would not be. It is the same with religions. Christianity is not just Christianity. Christianity is also Buddhism and... Sign in to see full entry.

It's Safer to Approach God Through the Holy Spirit then Through Theology
“It is safer to approach God through the Holy Spirit than through theology.” This is one of my favorite statements from one of my favorite “holy men”, as Dr. Martin Luther King called him - Thich Nhat Hanh. Nhat Hanh, a highly respected Buddhist monk, wrote this in his book, “Living Buddha, Living Christ”. What exactly did he mean by this statement? While it is hard to know his motivation, one might be able to grasp the gist of what he meant by first defining his terms. The Holy Spirit of... Sign in to see full entry.

Devotion to "God"
I'm back from vacation and have easy access to power for the old laptop, so here's a new post: People speak of being devoted to “God”. I believe this is a wonderful idea. But I think there is a better one: be devoted to everything on, and including, the planet. Here’s my reasoning. Devotion means ardent, often selfless affection (love) and dedication to a person or principle. So being devoted to “God” is a wonderful concept. But for many, “God” is so far away that affection, or love, and... Sign in to see full entry.

I try my best to understand the world. but alas, I can't. I try my best to understand the universe. Unfortunately, I can't. I try my best to understand God. Sadly, I can't. I try my best to understand it All. But alas, I can't. Only i can... Sign in to see full entry.

If One Doesn't Respect Others, One Has No Respect For One's Self
To be respectful is to humble one’s self. It’s to have humility in everything we do and say. This is very difficult for most of us. Being humble, being modest, not being arrogant is anathema to the Ego. But it is the way of Yeshua. Yeshua tells us that if we believe in him, we can do his works and greater works than he. Paul tells us that he had traveled far enough on his journey that he and Yeshua had become one. This means we have the capacity of Christ within us. If we have the capacity of... Everything is My Religion
Okay - a rather cheesy bit of verse, but I'm strapped for time as I prepare for part 2 of my vacation: I spent some time beneath a tree, for trees are my religion I walked along a river free, for rivers are my religion I led a focus group at work, for work is my religion I played a round of golf – a perk – for golf is my religion I ran with Chance our family dog, for dogs are my religion I posted on my favorite blog, for blogs are my religion I mingled with the “neighbors” crowd, for crowds are... Guidelines for Interreligious Understanding
The Guidelines for Interreligious Understanding, put together by Thomas Keating (a Roman Catholic priest and Trappist monk and a leader in interfaith spirituality) and 15 members of his Snowmass Conference. These are points of agreement with regard to spiritual practice. Members of this conference are leaders in traditional spiritual wisdoms and created the guidelines to help foster an inter-spiritual approach from all schools of spiritual wisdom. I thought they needed sharing: 1. The world... Sign in to see full entry.
