Another Opportunity Lost

Awake in bed I wonder who I will be today? A loving presence or Pride and arrogance. Who will take the lead? Early morning meditation Will help choose the man Who will act in today’s play, Though nothing is guaranteed. I enter the stage As the One's favorite character, Prepared to bathe the audience In joyful actions. But awareness is fleeting. And suddenly, One of Love’s understudies Steps into the role. Before I know it, The joyful lessons for the day Have vanished in the gray mist Of Ego’s... Sign in to see full entry.

Active Love

To walk the true path to the Divine, one must be active in love. To argue about “God”, or to point out those who may have lost their way, is not being active in love. Taking sides and creating an “us versus them” mentality is not being active in love. Name-calling and hurting others is not being active in love. Not casting the first stone is acting in love. Accepting that each of us learns at our own pace and are limited to our understanding of God based on our understanding of ourselves is... Sign in to see full entry.

A New Look at the First Commandment

When I started writing this blog a little over a year ago, I first wrote a bit about my views of the 10 Commandments. I want to revisit a few of them (on occasion) because of new insights that have been whispered to me: 1. You shall have no other God before me – I see this a little differently then I did. Previously I had thought that a God of love would not say such a thing – it didn’t fit with the concept of a loving and forgiving God. It just seemed too arrogant a statement. Now however,... Graciousness is the Job of Every Traveler on the Path

Graciousness. One who is gracious can be nothing less because graciousness, as is necessary, is all consuming. Graciousness is forgiveness in repose. While forgiveness is of action, graciousness just is. In graciousness, all else resides: forgiveness, compassion, mercy, sympathy, love. One who is gracious brings joy to everything. Each encounter is tinted with love and compassion, because many in this world long for “God” and are suffering. And graciousness is the kindred response to those that... Sign in to see full entry.

Experience, Not Reading or Writing, Bring One Closer to "God"

I spend a lot of time reading and writing about “God” and spirituality. I write to learn and to share. I read to learn and to share. In both activities, my purpose isn’t to get closer to “God” or to become more spiritual. My purpose is to help myself get closer to experiencing “God”. Becoming more spiritual is a byproduct of this work. No one can get closer to “God” by writing or reading. All one can do is prepare the path for that blissful walk to divinity. Reading and writing can help clear... Sign in to see full entry.

Forgiveness is "For" "Giving"

Forgiving is the ability to excuse a fault or an offense, according to the dictionary. But I think it goes beyond that. One can forgive, can excuse a fault, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that one will forget or not hold resentment toward that person. This is where the problem lay. If one looks at the two parts of the word forgiving, one finds the word “for” and the word “giving”. So, if one is to forgive, it means that one is for giving. To give is to not be selfish. Giving is the action of... Sign in to see full entry.

Are We Limiting "God"?

Divinity resides in each of us. We are capable of unfathomable feats because of it. We can, as Yeshua told us, do the same works, and even greater ones, then he. So why don’t we? What is stopping each of us from following Yeshua’s lead? What keeps us from performing miracles? Is it fear? Is it fear of the unimaginable power we have? Is it fear of the responsibility that comes with that kind of power? Or is it fear of failing, believing that we can’t possibly be capable of anything remotely close... Sign in to see full entry.

Walk With the Divine

Yeshua told the story of the Kingdom of Heaven (the spiritual realm) being like a mustard seed. While the least of all the seeds, Yeshua said, if cultivated and nurtured, it would grow large enough so that the birds of the air would lodge in it. This holds true for the Kingdom of Heaven that is in each of us. While within our unaware selves, the spiritual realm is the tiniest of tiny. But the moment we begin to become aware, the moment we overcome our forgetfulness, it begins to grow. If we... Sign in to see full entry.

End the Wars Within to Stop the Wars Without

Violence. We see it everywhere. Sometimes we’re involved in it. If there is violence in the world, it’s because we haven’t learned how to deal with the violence within each of us. We haven’t learned how to be peaceful with ourselves. We struggle with the wars within. Finding peace within requires forgiveness. We need to forgive ourselves when our Ego gets out of control. We need to forgive ourselves for being human. We also need to work on being mindful. Mindfulness means being aware. It means... Sign in to see full entry.

Living Without Unconditional Love is Hell

It happens to me on occasion (though not in the last couple of years). I become angry about something that has happened or about something someone said. My body begins to tingle as I think about what was said or what happened. All of my energies become concentrated on this particular event. I can think of nothing else. My blood pressure rises. I may swear a bit, either out loud or under my breath. I become consumed by this feeling of revenge for the attack on me (whether or not the event is... Sign in to see full entry.
