Blessed is the One Who Has Labored and Found Life

If you’ve read any of the posts in this blog, you know that I am one who believes in the concept of spiritual maturity. Each of us is on a path, whether we are aware of it or not, that guides us to higher and higher levels of spiritual maturity, if we are ready for it and ready to work for it. Some of us are more spiritually mature than others, only because we are ready to work and have been able to learn and understand more about “God”. Many of the sayings of Yeshua found in the Gospel of... Sign in to see full entry.

The Carpenter

This was sent to me by a friend, and I liked it so much, I thought I would share it: The Carpenter An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer/contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife and enjoying his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, he said, but he needed to retire. They could get by, he said. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a... Awareness is Not a Natural State

I remember it like it was yesterday. When a friend asked me why lately I seemed to always be mad, it was like a slap in the face. I’m not a “mad” kind of person. I’m usually pretty mellow and laid back. So to have a friend ask me about my “madness” was quite a shock. She was right however. I was mad. As I became aware of the feelings that were making me mad, I was dumbfounded to realize that my mad feelings came from a feeling of a lack of control in my life. I was dumbfounded because I am very... Sign in to see full entry.

Respecting Others Starts With Respecting Ourselves

Respect. It’s a fairly simple term. It means to honor or hold in esteem. To honor someone means to regard them highly. And esteem means to regard someone highly. So to respect someone means to hold them in high regard. As children of “God”, it’s our duty to respect every one and every thing, including ourselves. But there is the rub. Many of us don’t respect ourselves. And while we may think we respect others, if we don’t respect ourselves, if we don’t hold ourselves in high regard, then we... Sign in to see full entry.

Matthew 7:7 - This is Not a Passive Request

We are learning machines. The moment we enter this world, we are learning. We learn that the person who is with us all the time initially, feeding us and holding us and rocking us is there to take care of us and protect us; that the wiggly things at the ends of these long things coming out of the sides and ends of our bodies are ours to play with and suck as we wish; that there are things that hurt us that we don’t want and things that make us feel good that we do want. For our first several... Sign in to see full entry.

Not an Enemy, But "Apartofme"

You are unique. From a standpoint of “humanness”, there is no one else like you. But from a spiritual perspective you are not unique. You, like everyone else, have divinity within. You have the spark of “God” inside your heart, popping with anticipation at being released. Release is simple. All you need to do is ask. Take a moment, in silence, and ask for “God” to come forth. Whatever your concept of God is, or isn’t, all you have to do is ask for Goodness to reign in your kingdom. It really is... Sign in to see full entry.

Our Godliness

As I walk my path I meet many souls, The butcher, the gardener, the artist, The parolee, the addict, the con. And as I pass each of these souls I say ‘Thank you God’ silently to each. I am not thanking God for each of them, But thanking each of them for being God And joining me on my path So that I might learn a little bit more About their Godliness, my Godliness And our Godliness Sign in to see full entry.

Yeshua is Not the Only Master

I am a follower of Yeshua. I follow him because I am enthralled by his message. I follow him because he is who I grew up with, he is who I am comfortable with. But this doesn’t mean that I think that Yeshua is the only Master. I do not. There was Buddha. There is the Dali Lama. And there were and are others. While I follow Yeshua because of his message of love, his was not the first message of love. Specifically regarding loving one’s neighbors, Pagan philosopher Sextus (406 BCE) wrote, “Such as... Passion is a Double-Edged Sword

Being passionate is usually associated with a fervent or ardent desire for or toward someone or some thing – a strong emotion for that someone or that thing. One can be passionate about a particular school, or one’s job, or one’s hobby or art. One can also be described as passionately in love with someone. There are those who can be described as passionate about Yeshua (Christ). Passion is usually seen as a good thing. Yet unless the passion is based solely in joy or unconditional love, then...
