Each of us is on a path, whether we are aware of it or not, that guides us to higher and higher levels of spiritual maturity, if we are ready for it and ready to work for it. I remember it like it was yesterday. When a friend asked me why lately I seemed to always be mad, it was like a slap in the face. I’m not a “mad” kind of person. Respect. It’s a fairly simple term. It means to honor or hold in esteem. To honor someone means to regard them highly. And esteem means to regard someone highly. So to respect someone means to hold them in high regard. As children of “God”, it’s our duty to respect every one and every thing, including ourselves. But there is the rub. We are learning machines. The moment we enter this world, we are learning. We learn that the person who is with us all the time initially, feeding us and holding us and rocking us is there to take care of us and protect us; that the wiggly things at the ends of these long things coming out of the sides and ends of our bodies are ours to play with and suck as we wish; that there are things that hurt us that we don’t want and things that make us feel good that we do want. You are unique. From a standpoint of “humanness”, there is no one else like you. But from a spiritual perspective you are not unique. You, like everyone else, have divinity within. You have the spark of “God” inside your heart, popping with anticipation at being released. Release is simple. All you need to do is ask. Take a moment, in silence, and ask for “God” to come forth. I am a follower of Yeshua. I follow him because I am enthralled by his message. I follow him because he is who I grew up with, he is who I am comfortable with. Being passionate is usually associated with a fervent or ardent desire for or toward someone or some thing – a strong emotion for that someone or that thing. One can be passionate about a particular school, or one’s job, or one’s hobby or art. One can also be described as passionately in love with someone.
