Jesus said, “Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will become troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished, and he will rule over the all.” This short statement by Yeshua, found in the Gospel of Thomas (saying 2) can’t be any closer to the truth for me. This statement explains exactly what I have gone through – twice. The first time was in my mid-twenties. My seeking Truth had led me to discoveries that astonished me. I was in awe of what I learned... Sign in to see full entry.

Love Isn't a Reward, It's an Obligation
Love. It’s something we all search for. It’s something that we all hope for. People speak of wanting to fall in love and get married, as if love is something that only happens if you are lucky. They also speak of searching for the right person, someone who will love them as they are – warts and all. All of these concepts put love “out there” – something beyond us that we must search for and hope to find. The trouble is, these concepts are wrong. Love isn’t something just out of our reach. Love... Sign in to see full entry.

Our Separateness From "God" is the Ultimate Duality
I’ve written before on the concepts of duality and non-duality. Duality, the concept of opposites or the state of being double, exists only in this world – yin and yang, up and down, black and white, mind and matter. Non-duality then, is the concept of oneness and supposedly only exists in the spiritual realm – in “God’s” world. From a theological perspective, duality is the concept that the world is ruled by two opposing forces – good and evil. I think however, that a better explanation of... Sign in to see full entry.

True Religion is Real Living . . . With All One's . . . Goodness . . .
Goodness – Of all virtues and dignities of the mind, goodness is the greatest, being the character of the Deity; and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing. - Francis Bacon Benevolent and kind are the definitions found in the American Heritage College Dictionary for the word “good”. This is what Sir Francis Bacon was referring to in the quote above. And goodness is something that is in each of us. Not most of us, not a few of us, but each of us. We have goodness in our hearts... We Don't Need Religions and Their Dogma - Life Really is Simple
I am driving on the freeway. Out of nowhere a car cuts in front of me and causes me to slam on my brakes, which causes my coffee to spill and my briefcase to fly off of the seat and hit the dash, springing open and spreading papers all over my front seat. I seethe as I look at the mess in my car and at the car that caused this mess. I want to hurt the person who did this, and could easily accomplish this if I just sped up to the catch the car and driver that did this to me. But I don’t. I don’t... Sign in to see full entry.

The Law of Love - the Most Important of All Laws
Most are familiar with some of the basic laws of the universe. There is the law of gravitation, the laws of thermodynamics and Newton ’s three laws of motion, to name a few. But one law, the most important law, is not known to everyone. It is the law of Love. Jesus spoke of it: "Love the Lord your God with you whole heart, your whole mind, and your whole strength; and love your neighbor as yourself. This is the whole of the law and the prophets." (Matt. 22:35-40). St. Augustine did as well:... Sign in to see full entry.

The Bellowing of True Reality is Inside Each of Us
Silence. In order to hear the wonderful cacophony of the universe, that beautiful singing of the stars, one must be silent. In order to hear the melodious chiming of the planets, and the soothing chorus of the cosmos, one must be silent. The bellowing of true reality is inside of us, and silence lets us access it. But silence is no easy task. It’s anathema to Ego. The din one hears within one’s head is Ego at work. The more noise that blares through consciousness the more Ego smiles. It knows... Pain is an Illusion
Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional. This Zen amorphism is short, but extremely powerful. It is, however, true. Pain is inevitable. We all have and we all will experience pain. But what truly hurts us is the suffering we submit to as a result of the pain. Suffering is defined as feeling pain. Feeling is a choice. So suffering is a choice. Pain then is an illusion because suffering is a choice. We suffer because we choose to suffer. The beautiful thing is, we can choose not to suffer. We... Sign in to see full entry.

Can Retrieving Lost Parts of One's Soul be True?
Soul retrieval. I have posted on this before. In shamanic cultures, soul retrieval is done to help cure an illness in a person. It is believed that trauma causes the loss of parts (sometimes most) of the soul. A Shaman is skilled in soul retrieval, using chants (sometimes hallucinogens) to enter an altered state of consciousness and retrieve lost soul parts. The concept of the loss of parts of one’s souls is very similar to the psychological concept of disassociation. People who experience... Sign in to see full entry.
