You're right. I don't think you can love someone too much, you only love them in the moment. But I am not sure what Caleb is referring to.

So does this include
loving someone too much to insulate them from the consequences of their wrong choice?  Just wondering.

I agree with you, sort of.  If it's natural destruction, then yes, it is part of the process of creation.. Destruction from hate or intolerance however, is not.
