The Deanery Synod

Went to the Deanery Synod last night. England is divided up into quite large geographical areas called Dioceses by the Church of England. Any Old Deeds?

Today is another day, amazingly. I woke to glorious sunshine, bright blue sky and a light breeze, perfect for cycling to St Mary's. Stopped off at Gerald's en route. Travelled to the Cathedral this morning for a meeting. Actually it was quite a good meeting, as meetings go. It started with a Communion service in the Cathedral and finished with lunch. An Old Friend

Death Of A Vicar Or Two

Saw it in yesterday's paper. Two of my friends have died, on succeeding days. And their funerals are on succeeding days, Friday and Saturday next week. On The Roof

Walked to the church in the next village yesterday to meet the architect and a representative from English Heritage. We've had constant problems with the roof leaking every time it rains and although we've had part of the roof repaired at vast expense, we really need to get on with the next part.... Storms And Turbulence

Cycled down to St Mary's for the monthly meditation class. Why is that when you're on a bike, the wind is ferocious whichever direction you're cycling? Harvest For The School

It was the local Primary School's Harvest Festival service today. It's a Church of England school, so we try to keep the links between school and church as strong as possible, hence we encourage the school to hold feast days and festivals in church.
