The more we can stay in neutral the closer we connect to Universe(God)
Meditation helps to place us in a place of neutral and learning what the connection to the Universe feels like within yourself places you in a place of love.  Love and Fear cannot exist within the same moment.  Once you learn to stay with love, a sinking boat would not be an issue. You would know that you would be taken care of.

What I get from that marvelous story is this:

Jesus/God is not along to help us work the boat, to do our work, to manage our worldly lives, so much as to help us, if we ask, with the storms of our hearts and souls: our spiritual lives.

My very first post on Blogit was on the topic of God meeting our expectations--and what if our expectations are not realistic: What if God is not what you expect God to be?

In the situation of your little 11-year old friend and atheist, he has declared that he doesn't believe in the God he has been told exists.  So he has packed off the whole notion of God.  I'll bet he could believe in a God that makes sense to him.  I'll bet, somewhere inside, he already does!

That's true. Faith will determine that even the worse kinds of disasters can be made to praise Him since he saved us from such a fate. Thanks for the message.
