The idiots that run the world's largest auction site have finally backed down and agreed to wave the Free P&P. This means you don't have to find a way around the stupid rule which means you have to either give your books away for nothing, or spend so much on fees, that you would never make a profit. Clearly this is hurting them and even their fees will have gone down. For example I would have to make 100 pounds a month just to break even. Now I don't make a lot from Ebay, as they have messed... Emotional attachment!
One thing has become clear to me when it comes to making a living from writing on line. And that is you can't afford to put too much emotion into your work. I've chosen several wonderful subjects which are dear to my heart, but sadly I treat them in the same way I would creating a work of fiction. If I don't feel the heat of battle rising in me, I feel there is some thing wrong. I have to me really on fire for a piece to make it. I can't be detached and cold from it. Of course this is wonderful... Sign in to see full entry.

You Tube
The future of TV is you Tube, like it or not. But it may answer many of our questions about what we really like. By far the most popular site on the Internet, it's secret is simply down to our own laziness, and the fact that we would sooner look at a small movie than read an article. All subjects are covered in far more detail on many article web sites, but the fact remains their hit rates pale beside you Tube! Also you have to take into account that fact that many subjects can be covered in... Sign in to see full entry.

Dream Job
I've been searching for a subject to write about on a big scale. This is to launch a commercial project on the net to make some money through Adsense and the like. I've tried various projects in the past. House building, Green issues, and some very dark and dangerous passages, which I dare not revisit. But I was watching an obscure program on an even more obscure BBC channel about 1960's science fiction. Of course being the BBC centered mainly on itself, but the show was good. Now there came a... Job lots on Ebay
After a very slow start to the year, I’ve decided to place a huge job lot on Ebay to try and clear the shelves. I’ve done this in the past but have had mixed reactions, once getting involved with a very disagreeable fellow! But it does work and you can get a modest amount of money for the lot. I won’t try and convert the currencies, but it works out that a box costs about a tenner and I think I can put together 10 boxes. I’ve quoted 700 books, but I now have to find if 700 books fits into ten of... Sign in to see full entry.

E-books
One idea which has always grabbed my imagination, is the Blitzing of web sites with junk E-books. There is an argument that if you have enough stuff out there you will get enough traffic and be able to funnel it to paying sites. Of course you need traffic that competes with the big boys to get even a part time income, but I just can't turn my back on the idea! When I take a look at the income of others here on Blogit and work out the numbers with other sites like AC I say to myself: “that'll do... Sign in to see full entry.

video or the Written word?
I think if I had enough confidence, I would make most of my entries as a video blog. The main reason being that it's easy. You just sit and ramble away and convince yourself that what you are saying is important, and that the nation is hanging on our every word. Bu when I take a look at the efforts of others in the field, I worry that I might be looked at as contemptuously as them. They just seem empty headed to me, where as the written word can reflect more. If you give people enough free... Sign in to see full entry.

Article Traffic
At a crossroads! Since Christmas I've been giving a lot of thought as to how I'm going to make money. My job is so pointless, it's the very epitome of a Dead End Job. Trouble is around here, it's the least worsted. So I need to turn to my own skills to make it. And that means the Web. I've tried Web design, and the problem with that is no one will pay you the full rate. Bit and bobs of work, but you can't make a living from it. By that I mean, if you put all your efforts into designing a unique... Sign in to see full entry.

How to get round the system!
Being a keen seller on Ebay I'm always looking for ways to get round the hydrous fees! To list all my books would cost me 70 pounds sterling, a month, even is I don't sell a single bloody book. So you can see that I want to try hard and avoid this, especially in view of the slow sales. So I've found a way round it. I list a group of books together as a job lot. But of course people only want to buy on or two from that lot, so I make them a deal on the side. Selling just the ones they want and... Sign in to see full entry.

White Christmas.
White Christmas. As I look out the window of our Lincolnshire home in the UK I wonder what ever happened to Global Warming? This is the first Christmas day that snow has been on the ground since I was a little kid back in the 60's. Is the change more scuttle? I think certain parts of the world will be heated up but other places where the Gulf stream changes may even e colder. We are certainly wetter here. I can joke about it as its a novelty, but I fear for people in India and Pakistan which are... Sign in to see full entry.
