Is it ever too late to learn something new? I never think of myself as old, but I do grow weary of having to reinvent the wheel every time I want to try something out. I'm really getting into PHP as a way of writing websites. The likes of Blogit use ASP as a way of getting all the databases to work. PHP and MYSql is free and a lot easier to understand. ASP is based on the old Microsoft Access and Excel. They are loved by accountants and will never go away. But for the like of me, this is the... Sign in to see full entry.

Website design!
If you have ever had the slightest thing to do with wen design, you will understand why I'm sitting here in the early hours of the morning, trying to get a complex website to work. I've had various stabs at getting the old Tinwellbooks.co.uk site to make some money, and this is the latest wheeze. I did try and integrate it with blogit, in the hope that I could make some money helping people to find freelance writing work. But the sad truth is, that there is so little work out there it would be... Sign in to see full entry.

New Projects
After some deep thought, I've now worked out a detailed plan for making money on the net. It falls into 2 categories. One, is to simply put together a number of sites and have plenty of click-through- adds to simply generate money. Now I have struggled with these in the past, but I now know what to do right. There's no real secret, just blitz them with adds, and get plenty of traffic to the page. The best way of getting traffic is to simply self promote yourself on Forums. Find a subject and... The wisdom of Solomon
With the news that Wiki-leeks has revealed some sad home truths, I wonder how we might react? Here in the UK Prince Andrew has let it slip that in order to secure a large contract you have to have bribes ready at as a matter of course. Well, welcome to the real world. It seems only Liberal newspapers like the Guardian live in such a dream world that we can function on the world stage without smoothing the way with personal bribes. Or so it might seem. But I smell a rat. And that is that no... Sign in to see full entry.

To be or not to be!
To be or not to be! I've done this video again with my voice. See what you think? Personally I'm toying with a speaking machine to see if I can get a voice over for the main body of work. But at least I'm doing something. Steve UK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uy1YM7JYBAM Sign in to see full entry.

Steady work.
Take a look at this page on u-tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltnzccuqe-4 It seems harmless enough, and it's just a silly test. But this is the way I want to present my work. Until I can get more moving video in place, I think these slide shows are the best way of doing it. I've seen some wonderful video presentations. Unasleep: http://www.youtube.com/user/Unasleep is the best I've ever found. So to do work of this quality requires hard work. As yet I know so little about the art I've a lot... Wireless!
I'm writing this page on the same desk as usual but without the yellow ethernet cable plugged in. I've tried wireless in the past but the damn computer always wants to revert back to the old way and doesn't want to know me. To be truthful the only advantage is that I can watch old episodes of Dr Who whilst sitting up in bed. So you might ask why go to all that trouble just for something as silly as that? I think we live in such a changing world, I fear being left behind. I hate mobile phones and... Sign in to see full entry.

Web site design.
I have several sites all hosted by a company called 1&1. Now they are very good. So good in fact that you hardly need design the damn sites yourself, just use their services and put your pages up. But the problem I have, is that I want to build a site that gets so much traffic, I can sell the whole thing on Sitepoint for a lump sum. That way i can cut out so many middle-men that I can just go from one to another. The problem arises that once someone wants to buy the thing, you might have to sell... Sign in to see full entry.

What's been happening?
Well, I've been abducted by aliens but managed to escape..... No. You guested it, I still work at the supermarket and have no money. But which version would you prefer? Some good news, I've made good progress with web design. The basic HTML is not good enough to make a site which will earn money. But throw in PHP and MYSQL and you have a serious contender. All social networking sites require some sort of database to make a go of it. So once you get a bit of traffic flowing through it, you are... Sign in to see full entry.

Sorry!
Sorry to anyone who looks at this page regularly and wonders what the idiot is doing! I've been very lazy in turn out, and I feel guilty about not contributing. There's been plenty happening to me over the past few weeks. The Web design thing is going well, and I'm getting back up to speed with PHP and MYSql. These things have always defeated me and using Dreamweaver is like wheedling a double handed claymore. I enjoy it, and feel confident that there is money in it. The things I've tried in the...
