This is a brief note to just keep the account alive. Nothing new, but nothing bad either. My teeth feel a lot better now my tooth is out, so I can concentrate on my other ills. If I was still in work, I would shrug them off, but now I sit and think about things too much. People moving in the village and I want to write more about village life, but I'm worried it might boil down to tittle-tattle. The money is doing OK, not as much as I would like but the market is so down right now there is... Sign in to see full entry.

Duke
The news is full of nothing else but the death of the Duke of Edinburgh. We will get this for days now. Then they will plan the funeral and the procession. The only people who are looking forward to it all are the flower sellers. Sign in to see full entry.

Tooth Out!
Finally had my tooth pulled this morning. The Novocain was so strong I could have pulled it out myself with a pair of plyers. (If I had the guts). Life is on the up. Everyone is talking about coming out of Lock-down and with a warm spell over the Easter Holiday, things look good. Sign in to see full entry.

One Year on
It is now one year since the S&P 500 dropped to its low point. Wiping out the fortunes of many, but my account did climb back up. It did teach me to get out out of currencies and stay in stocks, but at least I'm still here to talk about it. Sign in to see full entry.

Blitz!
This is a photo of my home town taken by the Luftwaffe in 1939, I think it was about the 3rd day of the war. They thought the factory was important, although when they bombed it they missed and hit a hen house. The chickens were shaken but not stirred. Sign in to see full entry.
Still here
Just a note to say I'm still here, even though I've nothing to say. Maybe better to say nothing than bore you all with a lot of nonsense about Chickens and floods and neighbours. I want to keep the account open, and I'm still toying with creative writing, but let's face it, the whole world and their brother are writing stories right now. Sign in to see full entry.

Down but not out!
The whole market is down at the lowest point of the week. This looks like a horror show right now, but I just watched a video in which a guy pointed out that the 10-year yield Bonds went up. This means money flowed there and not the stock market. But he also pointed out that there was so little take-up of the bonds it looks like there is no appetite to buy us US debt. Bonds can't go up much more, and the market will go crazy once people are allowed out to spend their money. A bit worried, but we... Sign in to see full entry.

Big Risks!
As of the time of writing the S&P500 is well down. I'm running at about $150 loss of the markets at the moment but hopefully, it's going up. This is the only way you can ever make any money from the market. It's a big headache waiting to see if you are even going to get your money back. But I've never come across anything else. This time last year was one of the biggest dips in the market ever. I held onto my positions and luck came out on my side. I had to move the stop-losses, which is... Sign in to see full entry.

Potholes!
Our local town is Stamford. And the road system has changed little since the Victorian age. In the old days, there was no such thing as Tarmac so they just used ash from the fires. This was just trampled in and they hoped for the best. As you can imagine, road repair was just luck. But when the army came in during the war, they surfaced most of the roads with Tarmac. Many of the roads around here have never been serviced since. So when Potholes spring up the Council just hope a magic fairy is... Sign in to see full entry.
