I've noticed that the local town market has picked up, with everyone gambling on a big surge in spending. Not sure if it will work out. Not much happening here, but I feel I have to say something just to keep the account going. Had my second jab for Covid-19 so all that is behind us now. Even though most businesses are struggling. The only cloud on the horizon is the speed camera van. I was sure we were going more than 30 as we passed it, so we live in fear now of getting a notice through the post. We are struggling to get some money back from the bank. In the UK the banks went through a period of overcharging people for things, and even making up charges that never existed. I hold a joint account with my Mother and she has been overcharged for 20 years. the amount of money comes in somewhere around two thousand pounds and well over two thousand Dollars. One of my pet projects over the last few years, has been to try and bring my sister and Mother back together again. The main sticking point has been the money my sister owed after she made Mother the guarantor of her lease. She simply stopped paying it and moved in with another man, leaving Mother to face the landlord. Now, the matter was dropped and no more action was ever taken, but the damage was done. Bitcoin and cryptos generally have taken a tumble in the last few days. In fact, they fell off a cliff. The reason is Leverage. If you buy an asset on the market, you are offered it at the base rate. With Zero leverage. But you can buy it at twice the price; 10 times the price or even 100 times the price, with Leverage. All very well if you buy $25 in Bitcoin and find that at 10% Leverage it is now $250. But once it goes down you are now down so much that many exchanges will just wipe out your... I would have hoped the stocks would have done better over the past few weeks. They have been disappointing, to say the least. I'm backing these in a big way, and everything is resting on the market going up. Of course, it will, but I suspect we will have to wait another month. Everything depends on other people making things work and the best of that is China making more computer chips. Once again I have to go cap in hand to the local council, to ask for my Housing benefit to continue. It's less than a thousand pounds a year, but I've come to rely on it, especially since things took a dive last year. The problem is that I'm judged by the gross of all my accounts, and with the Trading account, it puts me at the limit of what they can allow. Chickens! We are looking after the neighbours' chickens for the bank holiday weekend. The countryside is overrun with foxes, as no one hunts them anymore. And I mean the farmers, not those idiots in red coats. My sister lives in the city of Peterborough and says they have so many foxes hanging around the dustbins.
