I thought briefly about contacting the editor of our local paper - the Intelligencer - about writing a weekly sights & sounds feature to be called "Street Seen." Heard from daughter Lorrie that Ameren (the power co) has restored power in her neighborhood of Decatur as of 6:30 this p.m. Thank heavens. UPDATE ON OUTAGES

Weather - wind damage. Daughter Lorrie says the power company expects to have power restored by this evening. Meanwhile they have a generator to operate the CPAP machine for her partner Mike and run the fans. She says it hasn't been too hot overnight & they got some sleep. In the Greater St. Louis...
