Re: TAPS

Miracle Whip... Now there's a phrase I haven't heard in ... forever.

Re: Kabu

I could never make my bread as light and tasty as Mom's, but I did learn to make her secret recipe for potato salad. I'm guessing none of the baked goods you made ever got to the day-old stage. Had to grin about throwing buns at a kangaroo...

My Mom did all the things your Mom did except for one.  Can you guess?
She never ever tried to make Mayo that I can remember.  She bought that ready made or sometimes Miracle Whip.  I haven't tasted Miracle Whip in years now that I think of it.

Good afternoon

You are a true farm girl. I love fresh vegetables that are free from pesticides and food that is free from GMOs. My paternal grandparents owned a farm that was fully equipped with animals and vegetation for the purpose of sustaining off of the land as most folks did during that time. Sadly, they passed when I was three. I would have loved to learn more about farming, but I do have a pretty big interest in it today because of their influence. Homegrown food is the best all the way around. I have tasted homemade mayonnaise. There is nothing like it.

Good Afternoon

My family has always had farms and gardens.  We've always enjoyed cooking from scratch and it sure saved a lot of money.

Old More's Almanack was probably similar we used to sell it. Gosh! I cannot

remember how much probably about sixpence. My Mother stored eggs in a bucket

for winter in something called isinglass, I think that's right I dare not go to Google

to look it up. She was always looking for self-seeding potatoes as Dad did not have

time for gardening. We used to get a bagful of vegetables from the villagers.
