Excerpt from Waking The Zombies: Joe has spent a few days in the belly of the beast as a "consultant." Albeit knows he's the key to finding Uncle, the NSA cryptologist whose spybot application had been easter-egged to Albeit inside Joe's game. But they've had to restort to old-fashioned detective... In Spain the rain is mainly in the plain...
But it's flooding little old Mundane. Yesterday, after my visit to Blogit I found carpet puddles in my basement. Splashy puddles. This is getting to be a pain, second time this year it's flooded. I called in the crew Memorial Day. We had fans and dehumidifiers going for eight days, there was some... Sign in to see full entry.

I love halloween!
Yesterday it started to rain before I could get to the store for treats. And before I could get at the fallen leaves. It rained all day. It rained all night. Most of the leaves are down now, inches deep on the lawn which has stayed green all summer because we've had so much darn rain. Kids can... Sign in to see full entry.

I found a home on the internet...
Sometimes Blogit is just one big delicious potluck where we all bring our bits to share with everyone. There's this coming home feeling when I read some of the amazing comments on my own blog. And I get so much from the blogs of others. Sometimes we mess up, act like brats, squabble and demand... Sign in to see full entry.

Home's in the eye of the beholder
For years I’d thought about going to the citiest of cities, New York. I wanted to see Brooklyn for myself, and Greenwich Village, the very heart of avant garde culture. But then the planes hit the World Trade Center towers and put a stop to my yearning. I could be perfectly happy right there in... Sign in to see full entry.

What's your game?
I had coffee with June and Jean at Mickey D's yesterday. It may just be the last time I'll do that, at least with June. I won't repeat June's whole conversation, but it was disturbing. Some of it (as always) I've heard a million times before. But some of it was new: outrageous and hateful. Jean and... Sign in to see full entry.

Show us your shorts...
No, it's not an indecent proposal. It's an invitation from the Writer's Digest to enter a short story (1500 words or less) in their annual short fiction contest. Deadline is Dec. 1. Since I'll be busy with Herb & Louise and the kids throughout November, I'm afraid if I don't enter before NaNoWriMo,... Sign in to see full entry.

Excerpt from Waking the Zombies: two characters you haven't met
Colton Winfield had been planted in the Attorney General’s office while the ink was still wet on his law degree. This was on the recommendation of Derek King, CEO of WhiteEarth International. Winfield was fired when they caught him emailing confidential case information to Albeit. Matt Nichols of... Sign in to see full entry.

Some of the new stuff from WTZ...
fyi -- Joe Alvarez has not returned from Fairfax, VA, “the belly of the beast” where Albeit’s CEO (Matt Nichols) gave him a personal tour of the facility and an overview of the defense contractor’s power and mission. What he learned scared hell out of Joe. He disappears after George Finn, security... Sign in to see full entry.
