Ten times ten and back again -- heat wave

I believe today is the last forecast day of 100 degree heat in the St. Louis area. We're supposed to have a "cold wave" and a high of only 89 by Sunday. Back to normal

While my daughter was here his past week, we went out to eat almost every day. But food wasn't the point. She's a bit of a miracle worker. Sunrise glory

The sunrise may have been fabulous this morning. It's not yet 70 here in beautiful downtown Mundane, birds are quiet, the grass is emerald green thanks to the frequent heavy rainstorms we've had all summer, and the humidity is down. Odd light...

I was just outside, in a morning oddly lit. A couple hours ago there was a brief mild thunderstorm, a bit of rain, and as sunrise approached more clouds coasted in from the north. How many writers does it take to make a festival?

At our library, they put out the invitation, through the papers, word of mouth and on the website. They were hoping for three, maybe five.
