Tales of Burning Love -- by Louise Erdrich

This book, by one of my favorite writers, was a bargain I picked up off the shelves at Carnegie's, the little bookstore/coffee shop at the library. Letter from a friend

Jean called me yesterday after she walked down to the mail box and picked up her mail. A moment of silence for Wilma Mankiller

They announced yesterday on NPR that Wilma Mankiller, age 64, passed away two days ago after losing her battle with cancer. Ms. Mankiller had served for ten years as tribal chief of the Cherokee Nation, its first ever female chief. She was also a mother, one who worked for the betterment of all... Her name is January Moon Diaz. She came to the U.S. from Cuba at the age of thirteen. She was one of many refugees from a flotilla of small boats, oil-drum rafts and truck inner-tubes. Kriege Hatchery

When I first moved to Mundane in 1966 it was a different town. About 12,000 people, typical prairie look to it. Yard waste
