For a moment there it seemed so sweet to think of being loved by you again; you've made it clear this is on your mind. Sometimes I tire of being alone and smile about those little jokes you make. I dream of balconies with scenic views where we could watch sunsets together. Then memory whispers... Sign in to see full entry.

A little fun for a Sunday -- movie script I wrote a while back
Geriatric Pirates of the Caribbean Captain Jack, recovering from hip replacement surgery, has convinced his beautiful young attendant to help him escape the rehab center. His crew commandeers a power launch with a landing ramp, and as the scene opens, we see Johnny Depp in ratty pirate gear working... Sign in to see full entry.

A News Article from 1891
September 23, 1891 Shot Himself Accidentally John Henry Weigel met with an accident Saturday evening, while on the premises of John Nix on St. Louis Street, which subsequently resulted in his death. He was in the yard in the company of two other boys, Ollie Nix and Jobe Gilbert, handling a revolver.... Sign in to see full entry.

Lopsided Lulu
Thanks to amoxycillin and prescription-strength ibuprofin, the pain is gone and I actually got six hours of sleep last night. But the right side of my face is a balloon that feels off balance. I had this sensitivity in one upper tooth for a few days, not pain exactly, just a sense that it was there,... Sign in to see full entry.

Two of my favorite authors -- gone.
J. D. Salinger who wrote "Catcher in the Rye" so many years ago. Holden Colfield with his cogent remarks about life and learning, shocking in its day, a classic now. Mr. Salinger was a recluse, but his novel was a rocket star, a coming-of-age story that taught many a youngster a thing or two. I only... Sign in to see full entry.
Well, at least nobody screamed "You Lie!"
in the middle of President Obama's speech. I was glad to hear he's calling for meetings with his own party and the loyal opposition. I think he was right about the need for our representatives in DC to stop playing politics and get down to solving problems. I think he was right that there's been a... Sign in to see full entry.

Photo of a big old gator with a golf club in it's teeth...
For you sports fans, it was a putter. Apparently it's habitat is the sand trap. And this gator, with a typical toothy gator grin and not a crocodile tear to be seen, seemed uniquely satisfied with his lot in life. Can we assume the world's best golfer, who may or may not be rehabbed, is now gater... Sign in to see full entry.

One man's meat is another man's poison...
Or something like that. Anyway, I got an "inspirational" greeting from my sis a while ago. Lovely illustration, a leather-bound book, a candle, butterflies, ornately decorated with gold ink, beautiful script. Something to the effect that it's a prayer for the cure and pass it on. There was a... Sign in to see full entry.

Vow of Celibacy... (Hah!)
The ladies of The View this morning were discussing Oprah's interview of Sarah and Bristol about Mrs. Palin's upcoming newscaster job on Fox. Really, I shouldn't even mention all this. Nonetheless, the goddess of daytime TV expressed some doubt as to the younger Palin woman's ability to... Sign in to see full entry.
P.S. to the Kermit Thing
Great comments, my friends, on yesterday's blog. I'm copying them to my file where I can read them now and then... I was joking yesterday. Kidding myself by admitting envy that Chuck sold his "Dragon Dreams" to a publisher. I Googled that publisher -- Black Rose Writing -- and it looks like a real... Sign in to see full entry.
