Good for you Pat.  You'll never completely catch up with the modern world but that shouldn't stop you from trying.  I just bought a hardback for Ell's Christmas and simply holding it gives me pleasure.  The only problem is that I know and she knows that she won't be able to hold it up to read it - no more snuggling into the pillows and holding the book up.
We both have a hankering to try an electronic book - it's time to move on, but we will still keep hardbacks as pets.

Like you, I adore the feel of a book in my hand...the smell of paper, the ink.  There is something intimate about it but one thing to consider...an electronic book is never out of stock!
I won't be taking a Kindle into the bathtub with me to read while I enjoy the pleasures of a bubble bath and a good book, so there shall always be a need a book with real pages and ink.

                    I sympathize with you.....

But I have to admit that my Kindle has increased my reading threefold......more books and expanded horizons......and....I save money, don't use as much gas (download books through the cell towers) and use less trees.....wait!   OMG, It's turning me into a tree-hugger!

I agree with Malcolm - sounds like a plan. I just downloaded my first book on Kindle yesterday - the kids gave it to me for my birthday this summer. I love the smell of paper books too, so kept putting it off, reluctant to give up my buggy whip. Then the hydro went off, and I realized that the Kindle (with its battery) is easier to read than a book by candle light. It is an excellent idea for students! Guess I'll get with the times. Good post!

Some great thoughts there and last week I even went online to look up e-publishers but all I got was frustrated, think I'm not interested enough or something. Good luck luv.

Great post and the truth is I am dragging my feet...no I never want to

strain my eyes reading one of those little devices and I love the smell of books...I acknowledge that I am a dinosaur though and to sell, one has to get with the programme.

I've bought a Kindle for Susan this Christmas (if it ever arrives) so I'll let you know how she gets on with it.
