CHRISTMAS 1949

It was our first Christmas back in Salkum after the 1947-48 school year when Mom found a foster home for the three of us kids while she;d gone to Seattle for cancer treatments. HEARTBREAK SEASON

All hell broke loose here on Friday night as a tornado tore through the Amazon distribution warehouse just outside of town. Branson, MO

In another life my hubby and I took our kids to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO for a summer excursion. We rode the train, enjoyed the fake train robbery and the funny conductor's comments. UPDATE:

Just heard from my son who works at a warehouse just up the road a bit from the Amazon place that got hit by the tornado/high winds this a.m., with injuries and fatalities. TOTO, WE'RE NOT IN KANSAS ANY MORE

A string of tornadoes went through this area last night, (Friday, Dec. 10) and high winds, possible tornado took out the roof of the Amazon warehouse in the valley at the southwest edge of town, knocked out the electric power at 8:30. YOU CAN TAKE THOSE HATS AND ...

A few days ago I posted a "help me" bit on FB - looking for suggestions about where to donate a few dozen crocheted beanies and scarves. One friend suggested the local food pantry.
