How lovely this post is . Reading about another gardener makes me smile, helps me forget my worries today. I have a wee wild rose in the four seasons room waiting for Spring when I will plant it out. Perhaps in a bigger pot somewhere.I also have my indoor garden on the steps in the same room. We sit out there so often I believe it is healthier for us with the plants growing.

I've always loved the peachy colored roses, and the peace rose is so, so beautiful! Maybe I will try one this summer!

Good Afternoon

Pat, I love this post.  Your Mom knew what she liked and had her heart set on growing that rose.  I can just imagine how beautiful it was in the sunlight.  I'm sure everyone admired it but I think your Mom loved it because it was something she had grown and her rose was indeed something to be treasured.

Roses are a special breed

They take time, consideration, care, and gardening knowledge to get them to a point where they can stand on their own. I had a beautiful yellow rose that I left behind at our old house years ago. I wish that I would have dug it up and transplanted it to our new home. I attempted to grow a rose a few years ago, only to lose it to root rot from planting it in a bad location. I will again make an attempt to plant a rosebush. Your mother's knowledge and green thumb would be a blessing to me today.

Good morning

What an amazing gardener your mother was. She had the greenhouse effect going long before it was even a popular thing.
