HO, HUM. ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL MORNING

The sun is shining on the pond while the air still hangs cool in the shadows of the trees. The sound of morning surrounds us. Birds sing and call to each other to enjoy the dawn of another beautiful morning. A fish sent ripples through the glassy surface of the pond as it dipped its head up to catch... Monday, Monday

"Monday Monday, so good to me, Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be Oh Monday morning, Monday morning couldn't guarantee That Monday evening you would still be here with me." Does anyone remember this song from the Mamas & the Papas? I wish we could attach music to our blogs because it... Sign in to see full entry.

SOCCER

I played soccer last night for 2 1/2 hours and am playing this morning before going to work. My new shoes peeled the skin off my Achilles tendon so I'm all taped up and ready to go. A little crazy for a grandma, huh? More later. Sign in to see full entry.

ALL MY EX'S LIVE IN TEXAS

Well, not all of them. Some of them live too close for comfort! My soccer playing ex-husband immediately remarried another woman as soon as we were divorced. She was everything I wasn't - tall, blonde, buxom, ultra feminine. As soon as my children heard the news my ex was getting married, my... Sign in to see full entry.

AN EVENING WITH A FORMER SPOUSE

My ex-husband showed up on the same soccer field as I did a few months ago. It's always a peculiar feeling to be in the same space as he is even though it's been over 12 years since we were divorced. Old feelings and resentments flared up as I watched my ex-husband play dangerously hurting himself... Sign in to see full entry.

ISOLATIONISM

Is isolationism so bad? It took everything I had to leave the farm today. Not that there was anything pressing to do here that hasn't needed doing for days. It's not as if the little elves will come in to wash the windows, finish the laundry, go to the grocery store or weed the garden. It was just... Sign in to see full entry.

WHERE HAS MY MAGIC GONE?

Yesterday I shared a post about the cat hunting down a baby bunny for his lunch and our children's reaction to it. Our youngest daughter (25) wrote this on MySpace. i have never seen anything skinned before, let alone still be alive and beating. the bunny, as a whole, looked like a beating heart.... THE CYCLE OF LIFE ON THE FARM

Our children come from a world where eggs come from grocery stores in paper cartons after they have been cleaned of all evidence of bodily fluids from chickens. Animals are kept in cages and fed from bags of food. Dogs and cats are friends. Some of the children have tried being vegetarian refusing... Sign in to see full entry.

THERE ARE LEECHES IN THE POND!!!!

Our son-in-law came up from wading in the pond with our granddaughter and reported pulling leeches off their legs. We thought he was crazy. After all he is a finicky city boy! Later in the day after the men left to play golf, one of our daughters and I ventured down to the pond with her one year old... Sign in to see full entry.
