Our cats (and dog) have flea & tic repellant put on them twice in the summer. They're given their shots at the vets and then we let them live their lives as they please. If he wants inside, he's in. If wants outside, he's out. We have owls, hawks, coyotes . . . and we just honor the cycle of life. If we have more than one cat, they're all out. We never own cats, they're too spiritual.

How wonderful that you have found a "subculture" that provides you with both the exercise and the social aspect! Sounds like a good Sunday to me.

I like your post kiddo, and it makes me need to ask you a question. You let your cat stray off into the woods, and I just let a cat go to the OSPCA because I would have kept her inside all the time.
I would have done that because I am surrounded by forest, wetlands, fisher's, coyote's, wolves, foxes and all manner of pussycat munching animals and birds like owls and hawks.
Then I worried about cat catching tics and lime disease and all that sort of thing, so I went for adopting her out. Am I just uninformed or overy concerned or what? Thanks my friend....
