I want to say we need to take a long range vision on life

and be aware of such things as reducing food wastage - I think that later generations will be shocked at the food wastage in the last few decades. It really is quite disgusting the amount of food that people are eating and it is unhealthy. alternative fuel sources - especially in transport we should be looking at cheaper and more environmentally aware foods and fuels House energy conservation - solar panels on every house in sunny areas and other alternative energy supplies. Less packaging of... Sign in to see full entry.

Last Friday I received a court summons regarding a car my ex and I bought

in 2001 and which has been in his possession since February 2003. He has apparently not finished the payments and refused to refinance in his name only. I had been asking him for years to do so, so we are not both liable and seeing as I would rather have seen the car sold and the matter finished with but he insisted on reregistering it and keeping it then doesn't pay and I am listed as a joint owner and therefor I am also liable for the outstanding amount. When I was responsible for the loan it... Sign in to see full entry.

Well An Interesting Day!

I had my first day back at teaching teritiary aged students ELICOS. A slow start, but then you have to go slow and feel their level. I want to do some articles with them tomorrow and I need to think of some interesting activities to do with them so we don't bore the pants off them.....and the thing is to get them to talk, talk, talk, talk in English. People from Taiwan, Korea, Oman, Turkey, Columbia and Brazil. A funny likeable bunch. I ask one guy what he did in Turkey and he tells me "I was in... Sign in to see full entry.

I am also working Thursday, so 4 days work in a row!

So good to have work and I guess I am looking forward to being useful for the first time in ages. I have to finish my script rewrite for Two Roads. I have to like my male character more. My teacher tells me that my anger at him stands out. I don't think so. I can see his point too but then there is often no point in being involved with someone if you are not seriously passionate about him or her one way or the other. I dislike insipid writing and people who are bland and lacklustre. One has to... Sign in to see full entry.

Well I am working Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday next week!

The interview went well and I had a great lesson in screen writing today. I am getting over the agony of changing the first part of my short screen play. Must be a slow and painful process to write a best selling screen play. Don't 'nobody tell me any worthwhile academy award winning is written overnight or in one or two drafts.' I'll not believe them or laugh bitterly. I have changed the opening of my script ' DRAMATICALLY' painful as I cling onto the 'beloved scenes' and now I have to cut and... Sign in to see full entry.

In defence of Single Mothers.

I am a member of a much maligned group in contemporary society – I am a single mother. It does matter how I came to be a single mother. Most of us do not choose to be single mothers. Circumstances, events and other people can impact quite dramatically on our lives and a woman with a child, children or even pregnant, may find herself facing the daunting prospect of rearing her family, sans the psychological and financial support of a male in the family equation. Rearing children does not mean... Sign in to see full entry.

I have an interview tomorrow with a director at a professional college

in the city for teaching. I am so glad as I need to pay the rent on the 7th of June and I am scared that I will still be out of work. I have a good feeling about this phone call. You can tell when someone is professional. The day's work I did at an Elicos college for international students the other day made me cringe more than a little. It was the way some of the Indian and Pakistani students were spoken to by the Head of Studies. Apart from the text 'Headway' not being the appropriate text for... Sign in to see full entry.

I just noticed something strange about the journal section of Blogit...

Posts that deal with a person's personal life.....do far better than the creative output stories (I guess there is 'fiction' and 'writings' for that ). People seem to like to read reflections on others' lives and something with a more personal reflective style than pure creative outlet. I have to admit I like to peer at the world through the eyes of another being and see what they are experiencing. That is one of the reasons I like Perplexities. Taps writes very well. There are some amazing... Sign in to see full entry.

Dialogue exercise

‘Hey, Doron, ya got the blocks for the eskee? Rina is still packing food into the esky on the kitchen table. Dawn glows a red pinkish radioative smear through the curtains of the window over the sink opposite. She is ticking off each item as she places it in the container. ‘Two T Bones.’ Tick. ‘Four barbeque lamb chops.’ Tick. ‘Half a kilo of beef strips.’ Tick. ‘Two packs of frozen McCain Stir Fry Vegs.’ Tick. ‘Two one kilo packs of potato hash cakes.’ Tick. ‘Two twin packs of party meat pies.’... A Short Item!

Well I am writing a storm up and I know that many people were probably put off reading my post on The Kite Runner because it is too llllllllllooooooooooonnnnnnnggggggggggg. I don't mind. Finishing off watching Good Will Hunting! today. Interesting movie! I like it. I am learning so much from watching and analysing films.I hope it helps my short film screenplay and it will develop skills that I need in writing a feature length film about a woman who teaches in a small country town and yeah well I...
