I feel that I have got many things

in my life under control. Thanks G-d! Very little to do to prepare for Shabbat now. Put the table cloth on and get candles ready. Then make Hamim and soup and we are ready for Shabbos. So nice to have a clean house and just a peaceful calm throughout the place. I am so tired of boarders. Be nice to get my compensation payment and buy my own house. The Department's lawyers will probably go from making me out to be mad to making me out to be calculating and conniving. All they will be after is to... Sign in to see full entry.

Melbourne Jewry Mourns

They walked through the gates of the shule and the two schools that has seen fifty years of leadership by Rav Dovid Yitzhak Groner OBM to farewell him and the end of an era in Melbourne Jewry. The crowd was strangely quiet. Subdued even, as if they were shocked that a man so vital, larger than life and so much an icon of Melbourne Jewry, should no longer be amoung us. He represented the Rebbe of Righteous Memory and it is fitting that one of the Rebbe's best Talmidim should pass into the next... Sign in to see full entry.

Thoughts on Naked children and flaws in the Education system today

I still think it is inappropriate to publicise pictures of your child naked for obvious reasons. Thinking on this debate in the media at the moment, I can find no real value in it and it can lead to harm if not for the actual child, a child or children. Yes we have all taken photos of our young children without clothes, but most photos of our kids tend to be with clothes on. It is fairly innocent and we should not be looking at young children in a sexual way anyway. Most of us 'normal ' people'... Sign in to see full entry.

Interesting Comment of Pat B's on my soon to be ex boarder...

She commented that the reason he could be asking when people are going out and when they are returning has nothing to do with concern for the welfare of the person but to find out how much time he has to get up to mischief. I am quite afraid that he has done some funny business with my internet server. I still haven't received my new modem from Telstra yet and I would not be surprised if he leaves some sort of nasty legacy when he goes. Serves me right for not listening to my instincts. Imagine... Another week gone!

A New week and this won't be long as I am tired! Saturday 05 July, 2008 - 22:16 by why not ILANA? in Default views (0) | rating (0 votes) Thanks be to G-d that the boarder has found a house to move into. He is moving in with some Israelis. That should straighten him out if anything will. He will either stay and learn to adapt or he will end up on a flight back to NZ. I wonder what they will make of his expensive coffee machine and his habit of asking everyone when they will be going out and when... Sign in to see full entry.

A long stint without blogging ends...

Well It has been a long stint without really posting much. I have rewritten 'The Collectors' and will submit it tomorrow to a competition that I entered last year and got a commended for one of my entries. I don't expect my poetry will do that well but I do love writing my poetry, even if they are not considered literary masterpieces. I had such a positive meeting with my solicitor on Friday and we are going to a hearing and then before the workcover commission. It will be good to get this stuff... Sign in to see full entry.

You thought I might be lost in cyberspace??

Well no. The physical realms of the world had claimed me.:-) SOO.................... Hi all! It has been a busy week. First full week back at work did not happen. I had to have Friday off. Nir and I spent 5 hours in the waiting room of the royal Children's to find out just what this rash is and still no definite answers. I have to ring the dematology clinic on Monday to make him an urgent appointment with the specialists. Both my friend and I think it could even be as a result of the stress he... I haven't had time to post, I am so flat out looking at how to deal with

issues that are of pressing concern at the moment. I must find a speech pathologist who can come in to Nir at least twice a week in school to help him with his speech and also to start his swimming lessons and to get some OT going for him. I feel so concerned that he comes in with the phrase "you stupid, stupid boy" to himself as he looks in the mirror and it breaks my heart to see him do it. When I say 'there is no stupid boy here. There is no such thing as a stupid person.' He tells me, 'No Nir... Sign in to see full entry.

Well I am starting work tomorrow at a new ELICOS college

I feel quite sad about leaving the class I took today. They are a lovely group of young people from India. We had a fabulous session talking about languages being the window to different perspectives on the world. I told them a bit about Hebrew and how we have 22 letters which are consonants (kind of but not exactly), the vowels and how each letter has a numerical value and different things about Orthodoxy. They in turn talked to me about Sanscrit and Hindi as well as some of the other many... Sign in to see full entry.
