A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

I have this sad habit of neglecting to write in this blog. Sad, because I just haven't had the time. I keep putting it off for later, and then never get around to doing it in the end. I realized, also, that this is the longest I've gone without writing. Anyway, firstly, I dropped my internship with the Alumnae Bulletin. What happened was, I just wasn't finding the time for it. My advisor recently reminded her advisees via e-mail that they needed to sign up for advising appointments for the spring semester. So I stopped by her office to sigh up for a spot. She then reminded me that, as a second semester senior, this is my last undergraduate advising period- ever. Scary, huh? I had to sit down for a moment and think about that. For my senior seminar in history, Professor D'Entremont recently had us read a number of articles on the Parthenon Marbles and the controversy at the Smithsonian Museum that occurred a few years ago. The Parthenon Marbles are statues which used to be, obviously, on the Parthenon, and that in the 1830s an Englishman, Lord Elgin, bought from the Turks and took back to Britain. Wow, I have't written in a long time. I realized that I've missed a lot, being away for so long, and that I have a lot of catching up to do on my favorite writers here. I also have a heavy amount of catching up to do on my own writing, which I've neglected due to the fact that yes, sadly, I'm a college student. I'm really PO'd right now. The 2005 Helianthus came in yesterday, and today I checked it out. Its horrible. First of all, there are typos. Not merely little ones, but huge, glaring ones. For example: "Ashley" is spelled "Ahsley" in one place. Or how about the word "Sundial" being spelled "Sundail" not once, but three times on one page. Guess who wrote all this? Not me.
