I don't have much time to write--I'm at the library on an aged computer that only allows me 30 minutes of use, since the internet in my aprtment isn't working yet. But I just wanted to quickly write and say how much I love it here! The apartment is is in a great location in Brooklyn, with Manhattan just muntes away. Yesterday's move-in went more quickly than I thought it would; my roommate had a few friends help him, plus I had my parents and sister there. Today my roommate is at the first day... A book-reviewing dilemma
The more I think about it, I'm tempted to answer an ad on mediabistro. There's this woman who's just written a book called "Sex Secrets of an American Geisha: How to Attract, Satisfy, and Keep Your Man." It supposidly takes the principles of being a geisha and applies them to dating in American society. The author is a Korean-American woman who wants someone to write a review for her book. Internet job searching
In my search to find a job, I have become obsessed with mediabistro.com. Although geared towards people in major US cities such as NYC, LA, Seattle, and San Francisco, its a great way for people who are in or are wanting to break in to the media business. Its got a job board for newbies like me, forums, and the opportunity to participate in classes offered by the site. I've never really subscribed to the theory that its a good idea for a job hunter to answer ads online. Sure, its tempting for a... Sign in to see full entry.
Important day tomorrow
Do you ever come on to blogit just so you can see how many clicks your blog has gotten, or to see how many comments you've recieved? It was like that with me today. Its always depressing to see that nobody's left comments on what I've written. So please, if you're reading this, leave a comment so that I'll feel better! Tomorrow is a big day for me. My mom used to work at the Art Institute of Chicago under a woman whose son and daughter-in-law both work in publishing. The son used to work for... Sign in to see full entry.

Mary, Queen of Scots
I just finished reading an absolutely fascinating fictional account of the life of Mary, Queen of Scots, by Margaret George. Its a long book; at over 800 pages, its quite a tome. But I think in the end its worth it, because George is a great author. She knows how to make otherwise boring historical facts seem interesting. Mary, Queen of Scots, was an interesting character. Although portrayed as a villain by her enemies, the Lords of Scotland, Margaret George demonstrates in this wonderfully... Sign in to see full entry.
