19,997 clicks... and THE HOBBIT
It's 9 AM in these parts... I think this will be the day! Who will click that 20,000th click...? It will be someone who comments, I hope, or at least leaves a calling card... My son and I went to two shows yesterday. The first was the Moss Hart and George Kaufman play, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, about a wonderfully zany family whose ingenue daughter brings home her fiance, the boss's son, and what happens when he brings his very proper parents over for dinner on the wrong night. This was a... Sign in to see full entry.

I done it!
Typed up a cover letter, assembled the first 10 pages of THE HERETICS, wrote a 1-page synopsis of a 650 page manuscript, and sent the whole package to an agent whose name and address have been languishing in my computer for a couple of months now. By February I hope to get back a request for more. I doubt you can walk around, digits crossed for that length of time, but keep your pom-poms handy to raise a cheer when the time is right! Potato pancakes
I haven't made them in years... shredded Yukon gold taters, with a couple of eggs, a little flour, a dash of milk... garlic and onion powder because my son has an antipathy to the texture of onions. Oh--just a minute... *eyes apples... eyes grater...* yeah... 20 min later: shredded apples with cinnamon sugar and a little water, cooking... Sign in to see full entry.

That's how many clicks, as of today. We've had our first winter snow of the season on Sunday, about 3 inches of packing snow, making streets right for sleighs, if only we had them. As a matter of fact, I found. at a local thrift store, and old Yankee Clipper sled, the kind with steel runners, and it still has its pullin' rope, and the runners are straight, and the steering bar moves as it should. I flew downhill on my first sled like that when I was 6, in the first snow I really remembered. We... Sign in to see full entry.
