ours is coming up soon though i have never been to ours but to a balloonfest in centralia il that allows people to walk among the balloons

We have an annual balloon festival just outside of Montreal, and it is something to see. Your pictures are amazing, and are about as close as I'll ever get to one of those pretty things. An airplane is bad enough!

My nephew Kevin used to love all things that fly, and became a pilot
in the Air Force some 30 years ago - he had a hot air balloon & flew it in the annual thing in Albuquerque, NM at least once. In St. Louis they have the Forest Park balloon race, and since this neck of the woods is east of there, the prevailing winds give our little town one of the most spectacular views. Your pictures are great!

It isn't the clouds you have to watch out for, it's the wind! If the winds are just over the mark, there's no ascension that day. That's what happened last year, the Saturday of the festival. Sunday, though, they went up.
I would love to go up in a balloon! And I would likely also avoid the chocoated peppers.

Fabulous pics! In one of the series the clouds look a little threatening...I've never been in a hot air balloon;I must try it one of these days, but on a cloudless day! And I've never had chocolate-dipped jalapenos either...
