But Sannhet, that invitation to intervene is so important!
Especially in spiritual matters! I think this is one of those situations where what is good for bodies gets confused with what's good for souls: To open a door for someone struggling with luggage is one thing, but to intervene in a life-lesson is another.
But that is the life-lesson for the helper who can't not-help. Understanding that sometimes help is a hindrance is part of compassion!

Wonderful post! But I do think we sometimes need to get involved in helping - not taking on the problem so much as helping the other to see how to solve the problem - without being asked. I think compassion is an active state where we help lift another's baggage - not take it from them. We're the bellman, we don't own the baggage, we just help the person get to their spiritual room.

I suspect we don't because of the common association
that compassion means you have to get involved, take on problems when you have enough of your own!

ciel, wouldn't it be nice if we could treat everyone that way, instead of
the one or two people ino ur lives that we depend on? That's what teachers have to do.
