their arms and voices uplifted in celebration of "justice done" which is another term for vengeance. I find I cannot dance or sing about the death of Bin Laden: I feel a weary kind of relief that he at last is out of the picture as an active nexus of creative force turned to destruction as its artform. But I also can't help but wish he had been taken alive. Alive, to face the judgment of law, of the people he has injured, to have his nose rubbed in himself... To spend years alive in prison......
