In a previous post here, I told about how the word 'worship' which had always had a sort of groveling connotation in my mind, was transformed by reframing it as 'saying thank you.' This is a day-- in the US, as I have lately been reminded-- that was first celebrated with exactly that in mind: Thanking God for the most basic things, like survival against the odds, and having enough food.
