Surrounded by mountains...

Estes Park is just a little ways down from the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, at about 7500 feet above sea-level. The skyline is spectacular, surrounding this cove in the mountains. Today, there are patches of snow on the ground and a sky of blue with many clouds high up and pale,... Sign in to see full entry.

We arrived in the afternoon and stayed until after dark, swimming in the laguna, walking to the town's center, eating the excellent food provided by the efforts of the Green Tortoise drivers and helpers. It was salad and pesto pasta that... Sign in to see full entry.

A Hostel is a friendly place

...a refuge from the road, a bed for the weary traveler. It used to be that hostels were mentioned alongside the word 'youth' and that over a certain age, one could not resort to them. I have never found this to be the case, though often the travelers in hostels are young, traveling adventurously on... Sign in to see full entry.
