Interlude in green

Davy and I drove up into Capitol Forest yesterday looking for a new place to walk. It was a beautiful day, and our usual places closer to home were peopled up and I wanted to let him walk off-leash. He needs the practice of staying close, responding to calls, not haring off after... well, hares.... Sign in to see full entry.

Last Days

The truck has had her fluids topped... especially the oil, and is at this moment getting brakes serviced all around so they will continue braking as needed. Tonight, Movie Night, Charlie and I will watch a few movies together that we want to share... starting with 'MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS' and will... Sign in to see full entry.

Surrounded by mountains...

Estes Park is just a little ways down from the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, at about 7500 feet above sea-level. The skyline is spectacular, surrounding this cove in the mountains. Today, there are patches of snow on the ground and a sky of blue with many clouds high up and pale,... Sign in to see full entry.

My favorite place to eat in Colorado Springs

It was very nice... Sign in to see full entry.

Garden of The Gods in spring!

Yesterday afternoon was lovely with sunlight and dramatic clouds over Pike's Peak, and Colorado Springs. Davy Dog was mysteriously perfect a companion, walking around the paths and rocks for 3 hours while I, of course, paused frequently to take pictures. You may recall that I was here at New Years,... Arrived intact... and Gas Prices Report

Son Charlie and Dog Davy and I arrived in Colorado Springs yesterday after a fairly fine drive from the Northwest. No snow except in a few patches high up in the Rockies, and a little across Utah, but none at all on the road. Gas prices are high all the way until Colorado. The worst we had to pay... Hiking to the camp

This set of photos contains highlights of the first several miles of the hike from where the bus parks to the camp by the Sea of Cortez. I had not thought to grab an extra battery, so the latter part of the hike did not get photographed. In fact, the trail goes past Rancho San Cosme which is the... Sign in to see full entry.

More of Baja

San Ignacio is a small oasis in the desert in central Baja. We arrived in the afternoon and stayed until after dark, swimming in the laguna, walking to the town's center, eating the excellent food provided by the efforts of the Green Tortoise drivers and helpers. It was salad and pesto pasta that... Sign in to see full entry.
