Brain waste can contribute to having a wasted brain! Click and learn!

Do you know what color used up thoughts are? I know. They are sort of a brownish color. New thoughts are probably bright and shiny, but once we wring every useful bit of stuff out of them, I think that they bruise, like a banana. At night, while we are asleep, all the used brown brain juice leaks out of our ears. Don’t believe me? Look at your pillow, without a pillow case on it. Pretty yucky, right? Brown brain drainage! If that stuff didn’t come out of our ears while we sleep, I think that it... Sign in to see full entry.

Advice to Blogit writers and readers, we ALL have to do our part, or lose!

For over a year now, I have wondered why Blogit regularly loses so many talented writers. You must have noticed the fact that there is a lot of turnover among writers, too. New writers and readers turn up regularly and this healthy new input ensures diversity, a necessary thing in any writer’s forum. I imagine that a very few of our favorite writers find an entry into the writing profession and move on to bigger and better things. This appears to be a practically universal goal for most Blogit... Guy's cat BONKERS, 1991-2008. I will really miss her.

My devoted and much loved cat Bonkers, died yesterday while I was at work. I hope that her passing was peaceful, but I will never know. My poor cat was home alone with only our dog Tarbaby, for company and any possible comfort. I had been fretting, no, agonizing over the eventuality that I would soon have to end her life, personally. If she had become uncomfortable, obviously in pain, I would have ended her suffering quickly. I owed her that, regardless of what doing so, would have cost me. In... Sign in to see full entry.

There is SO much to do, and so little time! I am only ONE person!

It looks like my friend David and I should have persevered a bit longer in our quest to locate the long searched for, "West Pole." We had narrowed down our search to a narrow strip of wild land in Big Sur, California, and were making our preparations to launch the final leg of our two-man expedition, when David came down with a nearly fatal case of homesickness. By the time I nursed him back to health and Michigan, we had run out of funds for the return trip. Over the intervening years,... Sign in to see full entry.

For the first time in my life, I can see the future clearly! Wonders await!

T. Boone Pickens plans to put up a huge wind turbine electricity generating farm in Texas. This man researched the whole country to locate the best place to construct his giant wind turbines. The high plains of Texas has the highest number of windy days each year. I would have guessed that that distinction would have gone to Washington, D.C. I believe that one of his true motives is to help pull our country away from the crushing debt we are incurring, buying foreign oil. I am naturally inclined... Sign in to see full entry.

Safeguarding the United States and fighting hunger, at the SAME TIME!

When I was just a little kid sage, my mother tried guilting me with the old, “ Clean your plate! Millions of starving Asian children would be grateful to have the food that you leave on your plate, because you just don’t want to eat it.” I generously offered to help her box up all the rice, brussels sprouts, and lima beans, and to personally pay for the postage with my allowance and drop the box off at the post office. I said that I would be happy and proud to do my part to save the starving... Sign in to see full entry.

The night that I rewarded Marilyn, for good behavior! NO, not THAT! FOOD!

One day recently, Marilyn and I were celebrating some special occasion, and I decided to treat her, to a night out on the town. I figured that she deserved a special treat, for recently tormenting me a bit LESS than usual, so I graciously offered to splurge and take her to “Arby’s,” (a classy, local restaurant) for the “ Twelve-for-five dollars,” sandwich special. She demurely asked me if we were going to use the convenient “Drive up” window facility, or maybe, PLEASE (?) go inside, and wait to... Sign in to see full entry.

I think that someone has been lying to me, about oil refining.

How do petroleum refiners get more gallons of oil products out of a forty gallon barrel of oil, than the original forty gallons? Refiners produce gasoline, kerosene, solvents, lubricating oils, greases, waxes, chemicals, and who knows what else from crude oil, and I am told that the total of all these products is more gallons than they originally started with. HUH? How is this possible? If I were to start with five gallons of grape juice, and made wine with it, assuming that no water was added,... Sign in to see full entry.

How I spent my summer vacation! Don't try this at home, grasshoppers!

One of my meal delivery clients had a yard sale, this weekend. At it, I spotted a mostly intact (a few missing bolts and parts) contractor’s wheelbarrow, priced for $8.00. I bought it. About five bucks more, bought another spare wheel, tire and tube. I took my treasures home and began to figure out how I could improve my acquisition. My boss’ husband Mike, once showed me a conversion he performed on his own wheelbarrow, where he took the single front wheel out of the center of the wooden rails... Sign in to see full entry.

Celebrating Independence Day, here at Sage Haven! A new tradition.

This is the third year I have been writing on blogit. I know this because the following posting was repeated last year, and now I am posting it again. It is one of my favorite memories and is almost certain to be the final year that Bonkers, my beloved 18 year-old calico cat, is a living member of our family. She is obviously frail and wasting away and if she becomes uncomfortable I will end her suffering. Bonkers has been such a lady, I couldn’t bear to know that she is suffering. Well that...
