Strat suggested that I write this blog for you. Here it is. About 1964, five or six of us guys made a road trip to Harewood Canada, to watch a school friend compete in the 500cc motorcycle flat track road race with his 250cc Honda, after the formula II auto races, held at an abandoned airport, in Harewood. We spent the night before the races, at an abandoned house near the track. We elected my best friend, Dave Bradbury to buy two cases of beer, because he looked old enough to buy beer. The... Baby and I must stick together. Marilyn has us outnumbered!
Last night it stormed up a storm, here at Sage Haven. Thunder, lightning, and a hard rain, all made their presence apparent to us, waking us all up in the wee small hours of the morning. As always, Baby takes his guard dog duties seriously and he knows that thunderstorms make Marilyn nervous, so he spent the night very close to us both. One might even say he was plastered up against us after the thunder began. I do not know how he thought he was going to protect us from the flashes and crashes,... Sign in to see full entry.

If anybody asks you, I was here ALL night, last night, just you and me!
I am really looking forward to eating one of those new steak-burgers that Burger King is selling now, but I can’t think of anything that I have done to deserve one, yet. I can’t think of a believable lie, either. If some waiter were to ever call me an arrogant punk, again, I think that another round of incarceration and litigation would occur, and Bill Clinton wouldn’t be able to pardon me, this time. Where are you Bill, if I need you, again? HARLEM?! If Hillary had won the nomination, she would... Sign in to see full entry.

Modern dances. Have you learned how to do "The Marilyn" yet?
Do you know somebody who dances so strangely that people gather to watch him dance, with a stunned expression on their faces and open mouths? Of course you do. Everyone knows at least one of them. I wonder if these dancers think that the audience is admiring their fancy footwork and not thinking that his best friend ought to drag him off the dance floor and have a brutally honest talk with him, about his dancing ability, or lack thereof. My friend Robb, knows that his dancing is hilarious and he... Sign in to see full entry.

When "no news" is gratefully welcomed, as being very GOOD news!
My best friend David underwent a seriously scary operation, yesterday. He had triple-bypass surgery and some stents inserted into his arteries but when he called me to let me know that this was about to be done, he sounded as though he wasn’t frightened. When I learned about it, I was frightened for him but David had to have been terrified. We both joked around a little, as we always do, and neither of us let on what a watershed event this is our lives. If the surgery is successful in restoring... Sign in to see full entry.

------Big change is coming. WHAT do we want to be done in our behalf, NEXT?
If what I have heard is true, the numbers of voting Americans are now roughly divided equally, among those who identify themselves as Democrats or Republicans or as Independents. If we are divided into something close to three equal groups of voters, and the confidence in our national leaders (public servants) is at an all time low, why isn’t there a surge of interest in some third political party, almost any third party? Our voters overwhelmingly demand fundamental changes in the status quo,... Sign in to see full entry.

-High summer in Michigan is glorious and delightful. Life is GOOD!
This morning I raised the living room window, to let in a little cool night air, just as the first bit of light began to brighten the eastern sky. What immediately struck me was how symphonic the songbirds sounded as they announced the arrival of another day. I don’t know which kinds of songbirds I was listening to, but they were of different species and they were definitely competing with each other, to determine who has the most beautiful, melodic song. Each new competitor added his own song,... Sign in to see full entry.

We could all learn much, by watching and emulating children and dogs!
Do you also marvel at how easily children meet other children, in a park or a playground and immediately become playmates? We have all seen a kid walk up to another kid and without ceremony or self-consciousness say, “ Hey kid, wanna play catch (or dolls or Frisbee or baseball) with me?” Children do not feel constrained by ceremony, adult racial or religious prejudices, preconceptions, introductions, fear of the unknown, or societal convention, as their parents do. Boys naturally gravitate... Sign in to see full entry.

I usually try not to mention politics, but this is just too good to ignore!
Bill Clinton says that he is EAGER to help elect Barack Obama to become the next president of the United States of America. I suspected that the news media was lying when they made it sound as though Bill HATES Obama. They are both Democrats! I don’t know how they made it look and sound as though Bill uttered the, “ Oh, give me a BREAK! ” speech, but advertisers can make it look and sound as though a baby can talk like an adult, buy stock and rent a creepy clown, in a commercial that is running... Keep praying for rain, Willy! It's working well, so far!
I have been frantically trying to finish all of my gardening chores, before the summer heat sets in, and I am going to have to do a lot of sweaty panting today, as I put the final two containers into the ground. If this garden were the one that sits by my house, I would not have such a hard and arduous task, transplanting my started plants. The garden of which I write and never speak, is located behind our house. WAY, WAY behind the house, far out on state land. Gardening on state land is... Sign in to see full entry.
