When I was just a little kid sage, my mother tried guilting me with the old, “ Clean your plate! Millions of starving Asian children would be grateful to have the food that you leave on your plate, because you just don’t want to eat it.” I generously offered to help her box up all the rice, brussels sprouts, and lima beans, and to personally pay for the postage with my allowance and drop the box off at the post office.
