Now that it looks like we might have a few days of the genuine British summer, things might be on the up. With the stupid threat of recession hanging over us all, we surely need something. Last month’s terrible figure on the economy were only saved by the fact that people can’t get over their love of spending money. If it’s one thing we are good at, it’s shopping. And there are lots of stupid things to throw it away on. Sure, if you are down on your luck and struggling to pay the bills, it’s... Sign in to see full entry.

Writing and Junk.
One thing has struck me over the past few weeks, and that is the posting up of stories. Now I have lots of stories; unfinished novels, and projects that just ran into the ground. They never got anywhere mainly because I was worried about their length. What if I could not fill a story out enough to make it 80,000 words? It would never become a novel. And the short stories were just not short enough! But thanks to the blog we can put stuff up of any length. The are literally no rules. And what’s... Sign in to see full entry.

Big Dog!
Untitled Document Take a look at this! I stumbled on it in a military site. At first I thought it was a prank thing, maybe 2 guys in suits or something. But the more you look at it the more you realise that it’s real. I think the implications for this are staggering. For here is a real robot or that could do some good in the world. Whether you agree with the war on terror or not, this would save a lot of lives on patrol. Anyone who loves sci-fi will know the implications to its uses. So without... Sign in to see full entry.

Video
Untitled Document Video Try this for size? I’ve often wondered how you could link a page into Utube and get away with it. I’m not a big lover of video, bit like allowing TV in pubs but I am attracted to the idea of having the moving picture alongside that which you are writing. The picture is awful, as it look like the guy filming it was on acid at the time, but it is my home town, about 2 miles from where I’m sitting now. Tell me what you think? Novels and Length
Novels and Length One thing I have noticed, and which has never occurred to me before, is that no story has to be the same length here on the web as in real life. Let me explain. A novel has to start at 80,000 words before a publisher will even bother looking at the first draught. So you can do the maths and say you have to divide it up into chapter of about 10-12 to make it readable. Thus giving you an average chapter length of 6 to 8 thousand words. Now this is colossal length for a web post,... Sign in to see full entry.

Someone? Wow!
I’m amazed that someone actually ready my stories and feels fit to pass remark on them. Maybe it’s only polite to reciprocate on my comments, but it feels good to know that someone has bothered themselves. Thanks. Sign in to see full entry.

My Struggle
My Struggle I wrote this because it would look amusing in German. But Adolf and his crew are in that big blogsphere in the sky. Or burning in hell, whichever way you look at it. Do you ever find you have a really good idea then no time to put it into action? Well all my plans have been put on hold. I still love the idea of making a small amount of money just for writing, but up till now this site is the only one which pays. The credit crunch is beginning to hit hard here in the UK. We are on the... Sign in to see full entry.

Novels
Novels I’m still taken with the idea of writing a novel and getting it published. I’ve often said that the only reason I write (and write on here) is for therapy. When you have a job as pointless as mine you need something. I’ve been looking back on some of the novels and short stories I’ve turned out. Some are awful beyond human feelings, but many, and mostly the novels are things I’ve grown to love. Here was a world I truly came alive in. Where my imagination felt no bounds. Now I know plenty... Ranking!
Ranking! One of my friends here on Blogit (Gomedome) once said that this site ranks very high on Goggle. So if you are after making a little money, and it is a little! You could do worse than put it here. I have many good money making ideas but they all involve spending a small fortune on advertising. The secret behind any pyramid scheme, MLM, stay-at-home, plan on the net; relies wholly on spending your own money on advertising. Unless you are really lucky and can hitch a ride on some popular... Not too much happening at the moment, but there is plenty in the pipe line.
Not too much happening at the moment, but there is plenty in the pipe line. I like to keep up the idea of writing. Its good therapy and reminds me what I got into it all for. Critters is a site I like, even though I don’t write enough to submit my own stuff. I have plenty that once was, but I have mixed views on why I should submit it. I try to get people fired up here regarding fiction. The difference between the two is that on Critters you have to read people work else you drop off the radar.... Sign in to see full entry.
