Blog DescriptionAttempting to provide a different perspective on the things that we have come to accept and believe but this time around with a much mellower tone. Make no mistake however, patience with the bible lobotomized, (or those rendered dysfunctional by any holy book for that matter), is still in short supply. All I would ask anyone to consider is this; we all have a penchant to default to the notion of respecting the beliefs of others, my first response when someone tries to play that card against me is always the same . . . "you first" |
Monday, August 21, 2006When religion and culture clashesA recent posting here on Blogit reminded me of an incident that took place way back when I was in grade school. Grade 7 to be precise, we were all little brushcut numbnuts just beginning to comprehend the birds and the bees. "Beginning" is the operative word, information on the subject of human... The official party line of the God squad is that the books are secondary canons, or for the eyes of only... Fervent believers "defending their beliefs" authored the vast majority of the acidic remarks and insults left as comments for others. I began saving some of the more classic... Still, we have the opportunity to learn so much about others, what they believe, why they believe or do not believe, yet we still see some who seem... The second coming is imminent, it is only a matter of days if not hours, to hear some people tell it. My question is always the same to these people: How many times do you have to... HERE...if you click on this link be prepared to be disappointed in humanity yet again. It would be a little different if this was just a handful of crazy people talking crazy with... You do have to admit, we have seen our share of religious nutcases come and not always go from Blogit....but our nutcases aren't that bad. Some of them don't seem so bad at all when they... Where for some the notion that our world, specifically our environment and all living things in it are the result of a... Apparently you are not filled with hate if you spew... It is not enough to have completely fabricated the... Sign in to see full entry. |
