Gome
See, the thing is "we" can't understand God's mind.  We are unworthy.  Sacrificing your only son is the "cool" thing to do...don't ya know?
BTW....Did I tell you how glad I am that I'm Pagan? LOL

Sunnybeach7 - you've hit on a blog topic of awhile back
Why does God do so many things the hard way? Like the guy's omnipotent isn't he, you would think that there would have been a better gameplan than to sacrifice his only son? Then by all measures the gameplan didn't work anyway. Don't get me started about word distribution, after 2,000 years only 1/3 of the planet is using the "right" word?........

Gome..... "yoos goin ta hell boy"....LMAO....Love that!
Boy am I glad I don't drag my sorry butt out of bed every Sunday morning for that kind of thing.

You do know that the "creater" doesn't prove his existance, because you have to have "faith".  If you don't have "faith" in the invisible God, then you are not worthy of him. That's why he gave you this "book" to read. So that you may occupy your time reading, instead of looking around, wondering where the invisible God is.  You have to be flattered by this, because this was not an easy task.  No, God did not just wave his magic wand and make the "book" apear and drop from the sky like he could have. He did a lot of hard work, finding people to write this "book" for him. Can you imagine all the time and energy God had to put into that?

JanesOpinion - I can say "wow" as well

Wow...this comment is stunned, even for you.... The entire point of the post escapes you and you've drawn some fairly harsh conclusions about me which you somehow feel justified putting in a comment. I don't feel I have to put up with your childish inability to address actual topics of discussion. Attacking the author of posts that you disagree with seems all you are capable of.

If you ever sit back and self examine where and why I began to have had enough of you, it is in your penchant to levy personal attacks. This was however the last such barb that I will ever be taking from you....now piss off fundie.

Wow Gome, you're good. You are so omnicient you can judge the thoughts

and intents of peoples' hearts?  You can read peoples' minds and discern how truly devoted they are?  You have passed judgment on people you don't know?  Or is this just an example of your sarcastic wit and hateful bloviation at work?

You may ridicule me for saying this (of your ridicule I am quite certain), but no matter what you say there will come a day when each one of us will stand before God and give an accounting of ourselves.  I actually do not fear that day because, although I have made many mistakes, I also have accepted God's grace and mercy.

Ya know, I have discovered that there are some really decent atheists or agnostics on Blogit (for example Ariel70 or Nautikos).  I am sorry to say that you, however, are not one of them.  Your hatred extends beyond your decency.

TVBlogger -- I have to agree we can learn a lot from the fundies on how not

to live our lives.

I miss them too, I especially miss their inspiration...seriously. Many times their fervent knuckleheadedness (is that a word?) has inspired me in a great number of things. An example HERE

It's funny you should blog on this
I was returning home from doing some shopping... I was involved in that pesky task of "loving thy neighbor" by buying items to send in a care package to Iraq.  On my way home  I passed by a church near my home, saw all the cars lined up and realized it doesn't even occur to me anymore that I should be in church.  It struck me that they would all judge me as heathen because I wasn't there with them.  It also struck me that I don't care.

On a side note, in my short time here I've noticed that the fundies come out in waves.  They will all chime in for awhile, trying to justify what they believe.  When it gets too hot, they all bail en masse.  I actually miss the debate.  When they give their arguments, it only serves to strengthen my own experiences and beliefs because they are so illogical.  They help me know how to deal with my own family.  I kinda miss the fundies.  Who knew?!?!?

SuccessWarrior -- but knowing that you are going to hell has its advantages
Having Sundays off being the most obvious one. As far as what you can and cannot do in terms of formulating your neighbour list or who qualifies to be treated "as yourself": I don't think you can attach any criteria to what constitutes a neighbour. From what I have seen I am fairly certain that you must treat them all as equals, which is of course horribly.

You're just mad because you're going to hell
Is it okay to pick which neighbors to love?  Does it mean literal neighbors?  Or are we talking about national neighbors?  Am I allowed to create a definition for neighbor that includes the people that I already like?
